Good food, just took forever to get to us. We were sitting for 45 minutes waiting and I think that is just too much. Don’t come here if you have stuff to do with your day.

I’ll be honest, I *want* to give a 5 star review AND a zero star review; here is why: the staff was friendly, coffee was just fine, etc all the things you want. However, I was very surprised to look at their menu to see what is trying to be a unique take on a Cuban coffee (which I would already argue has 3 too many “special” ingredients and veers too far from any Cuban coffee, but I digress) - that is name the “CASTRO” knowing I’m in a military town, this surprised me. If you’re looking for a creative way to rename your “unique” Cuban coffee, call it the Havana, the Malecón, the Caribbean Coffee, I don’t really care, just don’t name a drink after a murdering dictator. It’s not ignorance, it’s idiotic.
I ordered my coffee (NOT a “Castro”), paid, had it handed to me and then gave my two cents to the very kind worker who wasn’t the owner but bashfully agreed it was distasteful.

Gosh I love Miss Lucille’s cafe so it pains me to write this. Food is always great, and the service USED to be awesome. There’s a woman and man there most of the time now who are always rude and act like they would rather be elsewhere. It’s so unsettling coming into a dining experience and being made to feel like you aren’t valued. Both of them need a lesson in customer service because as much as we love the café, the last two visits were crappy due to their attitudes.

The chicken curry bowl was extremely bitter and I couldn't finish it, my husband's sandwich was good. I'm all for spicy but too much turmeric ruins the dish

Solid 4 stars for lunch today!
Nice and chill atmosphere. Definitely not overstimulating.
I had the Reuben sandwich with a bowl of Tomato soup. Great sandwich! Fresh bread! Buttered and lightly toasted. A little disappointed with the chips but the sandwich made up for it. Served with a pickle spear.
Soup was just the right consistency. Flavorful and creamy, but not to creamy ?

I'm not a fan of the food, but my family does love it. Panini sandwich is the favorite of choice. It's very beautiful inside the restaurant.
Parking: Huge parking lot. Handicap parking right by entrance doors.
Wheelchair accessibility: Double doors entering the building (yes, Restaurant is inside Miss Lucille's). Double doors entering the restaurant.

I have been here several times and unfortunately this time was the least of the experiences. The menu has several options to accommodate many however with clearer descriptions would help tremendously. They stated the rice bowls can’t be gluten free but no one knew what exactly was gluten in the bowl so we could adjust. Now they have gluten free buns so no major issue there for finding something for gluten sensitive. Now the major issue is that nothing states the level of spice to their food. I know everyone has their own level of tolerance however there is spice beyond slight pepper and would be helpful for those who don’t have tolerance. Me specifically I have a nerve issue which makes everything heightened. I do my best to ask about spice levels and no seemed to know. Very disappointed this time around.

Quality of the food does not justify the price. Visited on 8/18/24 and paid about $35 for two small sandwiches and one fountain drink. I would hardly call potato chips a side. We waited over 30 minutes and watched many people who ordered after us receive their food. Very disappointed.

Can’t rate the food as I ended up canceling my order. However I was highly disappointed in the service I was provided. I went in for one of their bowls that specifically says on the menu they can make vegan. I chose the Chicken Curry bowl and then requested it be made vegan to which I was told avocado would be SWAPPED with the chicken. The guy rings me up and my total comes up to $16 instead of the expected $13/$14. I requested a receipt and sure enough I had been charged extra for the avocado even though I was told the Chicken would be SWAPPED. At no point was I ever informed that there would be an up charge to make my bowl vegan until I questioned the charge. I cancelled the order out of frustration simply because when this was pointed out the owner refused to remove the additional $2 charge; instead giving me a “discount” of 5% like they were doing me a favor. It’s one thing to charge additional to make an order vegan if it requires significant modification. It’s an entirely different thing to try to get over on your customers by up charging simply because they don’t eat meat. Literally just swap out the dollar value of the chicken with the avocado equivalent and be done-it’s not rocket science!
