My waitress, Ms Susan was the entire reason my visit to Shoneys was so amazing. Not to take away from the food, which was great (I love their breakfast buffet)...but her attention to me was just right, always there to refill my drink, and just enough banter and conversation to make me want to return.

Came in for Easter dinner and service and food were not up to standards. When I walked in the hostess with blonde hair had an attitude problem saying that her parents run the store. The restaurant was not clean and happen to get sick right after eating as well as I am feeling unwell. Didn’t ask for refills or anything either. Would not go back at all
My husband and I travel from a distance this place use to be so good and the staff was friendly but it's changed. My husband had a piece of raw fried catfish that made him sick. The waitress Kendra was rude saying I just work here well no duh that's why we asked you to make it right. So the manager came out and said oh the fish yeah no one else has complained about it as if we were lien which you could clearly see the dough at the top was not cooked as well as the fish inside was RAW, but guess he was having an off day. Then to top it off they said they would discount his food due to he had no appetite after eating raw fish which can cause food poisoning. The waitress Kendra decided to add her own tip of 21.04 to the tab, & tried to make it out like my husband added the tip, as if we wouldn't notice that they not only added extra to charge but barely gave a five dollar discount. Making the bill almost 50 bucks, which was more than the original bill and we drank water and got zero refills. We noticed the charge after leaving and halfway home had to turn around and go back, which was a waste of gas & time. I sat in the car and my husband went in and the the waitress that served us Kendra through the window took off in a fast walk when she seen him for some odd reason. Luckily the manager Mike did make it right by refunding the tip. I understand people make mistakes, but how you handle the mistakes and the attitude matters. We had plenty of money that's not the issue we weren't trying to get anything for free, but it's important that food is properly cooked so no one gets sick. And when a situation is address no attitude is necessary just be kind & do the right thing without smart mouths.The entire meal should have been free from the issue, but May God bless the people that work here. I pray they have a change of heart and attitude next time a situation arises. Needless to say they lost our business. And the place doesn't look the cleanest either. Needs better staff & cooks, as well as better customer service. If you eat here do so with caution check your food from the bar especially close. Good luck.

The waitress keep saying if I didn't bring your drinks or take your plates then don't tip but if I did you should tip. The food was cold some undercooked. I won't return. It's like what customers have been loyal don't know the food is below average. Not many choices sad dark environment not what I'm used to in other shoneys. Sad food, not fully cleaned inside and subpar friendly waitresses.

The service was awesome her name was Debbie she was so sweet , but the so called manager was not happy when I complained about them being out of everything. Her excuse was they was short staffed . What does that have to do with them being out of everything. How can you have tomatoes for your sandwich but none on your salad bar . I’m a past server from Shoneys worked there 20 years of we had tomato for the sandwich then we had tomato for our bar but they wasn’t only out of tomato they was out of the rice that I had order but didn’t let me know til about 15 minutes after I order my food . They was out of spaghetti they was out of country fried steak they was out of a few more items as well . I will never ever drive there again an eat there I came 30 mins out of my way just to dine there I’ve been there several times before today an never got treated the way I did it wasn’t just me my mom an sister was with me . So after I complained at the register to the so called manager she started yelling at me telling the customer is not right that it’s because they was short staffed is because why they was out of things well I’m smarter than that . The manager makes the order not the other employees. And for one I could count the customers that was in there that is how dead they was . I just want you guys to know don’t waste your hard working money on that place cause you will get treated badly if you complain. They chased us out the store because by then I started yelling back cause there was three of them yelling at me the one server wrote my tag number down witch is against the law for one an for two I paid you 55.25 my bill was only 55.21 I did not get my change back at all but I’m not worried about 4 cents best believe that .
