Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Had the quarter chicken sandwich, grilled, Xtra Hot and slaw. I'm happy there is a place in Clarksville that has spicy chicken hot enough for those who love Nashville hot. I'll be back to try it fried!

Smoking’ Joe’s food was beyond delicious! We ordered and then our meals were cooked to order, came out fresh and hot. The fried chicken was heavenly, the brisket was just right with its seasoning, and as the kids raved the French fries were the best ever!

This might be THE BEST food in Clarksville. Going by taste and smell alone, easily some of the best food I've had in years. Best catfish ever! If you don't try the sauces, you are missing out. Mac amd cheese was great. Strong flavor in everything. The smoked chicken was extremely flavorful and moist. The potato salad was great. The yams were great. I can't wait to go back again to try the rest of the menu.My mother had asked if they could make her catfish unbreaded and grilled. They were extremely kind, and the unbreaded catfisj was seasoned to perfection. We all left full and VERY happy!! Will definitely be coming here again!

I forgot to take pictures of my food. Sorry about that but I visited here for the first time because I was looking for a soul food restaurant in Clarkesville. I ordered the fried chicken, with vegetable plate including yams, macaroni and cheese, and cabbage with a water. It came out to around $20 give or take so it’s not too bad. Let me start off by saying the hospitality and customer service here is completely top of the line. Joe was so sweet and greeted my family and I would open arms and warmth for the duration of our time there. It felt like I was in my uncles kitchen. The restaurant was very spacious and clean. Now onto the food, which is the reason I came. The yams, I will rate them a 4/10, macaroni and cheese 5.5/10 and the cabbage a 1/ 10. The fried chicken with some of the best I've ever had 10/10. The cabbage tasted as if they were not seasoned at all it tasted as if they were just cooked with no seasoning or spices. The yams just weren’t as flavorful as I would have liked or expected them to be and the macaroni and cheese was ok Kind I’d tasted like boxed macaroni instead of good old home cooked Mac and cheese. All in all I wasn’t pleased with my meal. I would return here but not for the soul food. I am a die hard soul food lover but it is really hard to find really good soul food. They have a very extensive menu so I will definitely go back to support and order other things off of the menu. Once again the service was absolutely amazing and it’s black owned so I will continue to support.

i loveee this place! i got the rib tip dinner with fries. the fries had a really good seasoning and they were fresh. and the ribs were delicious. i also tried both of the cobblers and i was struggling not to go back for more later in the day. i would definitely try this place out. they’re friendly and it’s a chill environment. i’ll definitely go again!

Had the all you can eat Catfish with hush puppies and it was Amazing. I also had the green beans, coleslaw, and candi yams good home cooking. Joe and his family working there was extremely friendly and accommodating ! ! I can't wait to go back and try the Bar-B-Q pork and Brisket and also the Hot Fried Chicken See you soon Joe ! !Dine in: Yes

To me this is the best bbq place in town reminds me of bbq back home in AL, not too many places have good meat and sides, they have it all! I’ve tried the catfish, brisket and sausages as well. The only thing I would recommend is a different mac and cheese recipe everything else I’ve tried was bomb! I eat here once a week

The food and service were great! The special homemade drinks were so good also! I can recommend the catfish, French Fries and the beef brisket sandwich!

Smokin Joe has a unique flavor/spin on southern culinary, especially bbq. My favs, everything but that brisket n ribs will have U smacking your lips for days. Enjoy the ❤️ that’s put into the food. This was so good! I had the catfish with baked beans, fried potatoes and peach cobbler. Everything was delicious, and so flavorful. I will be ordering again.

Went in for lunch today, staff was all very welcoming and friendly. It was very hot inside the building. I don't know if the a/c didn't work or what. It was not a comfortable dining experience. Boyfriend got a fried catfish plate with cabbage and white beans, it came with 2 pieces of white bread. Cabbage and white beans were not good at all. I ordered a fried catfish sandwich with a side of white beans. I added hot sauce and onions to my beans to make them taste better. Catfish and tarter sauce was good. Food was way overpriced $2.99 for a glass of tea. We both had water, our bill was almost $33 for lunch. That's way too much. Restaurant was clean and spacious. Don't know that we will be back again.
