Stayed here for work. It’s reasonably clean, and the location is good, but it’s definitively showing it’s age and could use touch-ups. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean, but several light bulbs were out. Breakfast is no longer free. :-(
(Cross-posted from Google) This hotel has all the great headliner amenities, but lacks the basics of quality service. Our room was not adequately cleaned before our arrival. There was food on the carpet, dirt in the bathroom, the mirrors were streaked, and the water barrier strip on the shower door appeared to have never been cleaned. That was the beginning of our list of 15 specific failures in basic services. Nothing was by itself terrible, but collectively they reveal a serious lack of attention to detail. The one "plus" was that the bed was super comfortable. Touted as a "convenience, " housekeeping only cleans what and when you ask for it. That could be made workable if they could respond to the request the same day. Since we used washcloths and towels to clean the bathroom and entryway floor for them, we asked for replacements and were told we wouldn't get them until the next day. Someone, however, did manage to find us a new towel set which we picked up at the front desk that evening. Dinner at the small restaurant would have been terrific if the tea and coffee makers were working. A front desk attendant went into one of the conference rooms and got us coffee from the Keurig machine there. As a positive note, the prepared food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a different story. In short, they charge $11 for a buffet breakfast worth less than the one La Quinta provides for free. We are pretty sure they used powdered eggs. Other reviewers have mentioned the lack of security, and they are correct. Another vehicle fell victim to smash-and-grab our second night there. We were warned by another guest about the 4 break-ins that had occurred the week prior to our visit, so we were diligent to park in the front lot. For the premium price charged for these rooms, they should at least have cameras and better parking lot lighting in the back. While all the staff was very friendly and appeared helpful, the front desk integrity and credibility were questionable. I made three attempts to speak with the manager, one in person and two by phone. Management never contacted me. Two other promises from the front desk also went unfulfilled. A new hotel is being built in their backyard. If things here don't change much, that hotel can easily put this one out of business.
The hotel is in a great location and the service is very good, but like one of the other members/guests wrote “security is non-existent” . We were there when the car windows were broken. There is an easy fix that the property management can make by making it gated access. However, it is doubtful this will happen. Not sure if I will stay at this property in the future. Although the police arrived and were on the property investigating, afterwards, the damage was already done.
The hotel is fine in general. What you would expect. But security is nonexistent. Four guest’s cars had windows broken out at 12:20 AM and things stolen from them. The hotel has no security cameras outside. I was told this is a common occurrence here. Avoid this property and Memphis as whole.
We opened our room door and the stink hit us in the face. Obviously someone had been in here with a wet dog! The bathroom door had dirty hand prints smeared on it. The carpet was filthy. It was 10:00 pm on a Saturday night so we decided to tough it out overnight. As we were laying in bed a silverfish, or something similar, started scurrying across the sheet! I went to the front room and asked for a clean room and was told they are totally full, and all the managers were gone for the night. I asked for a refund and was told that they could check me out, but then we would have no place to sleep for the night. For a $200+ room in a Hilton I expected, at the very least, no bugs in the bed!! I will never stay at this property again. Tomorrow morning I will speak to a manager for a total refund. The reviews give this property four stars out of five reviews but if you read the reviews (wish we had) none of the ratings were over two stars! How did they average that out?? Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!
We were told by another guest(in the elevator) to park either in the front of the hotel or close to the sidewalk, because cars have been getting broken into. The next morning we saw at least 3 cars with their windows busted out. Maintenance was sweeping up the glass and there was a tow truck there towing another car away with 2 busted windows.
We stayed here while visiting family in the area. The location is wonderful and close to the major highways. The plumbing is good, the breakfast was also pretty good. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The room could have been cleaner. We have a few serious complaints, however. We checked out earlier than our original plans, due to these problems. On one evening our key cards stopped working, so we asked for the front desk to issue new cards. This happens some times with all hotels, and it takes the staff typically less than a minute to issue new cards. In our case, the clerk told us that the room we stayed in (218) was some kind of a special room and it took the clerk almost 30 minutes to re-issue our cards... it was late at night and all we wanted was to sleep; waiting for 30 minutes to get into our room, for what is considered a very standard task seemed difficult to understand. This felt like the management does not take pride in keeping their basic systems in functional order. On the night in question above, there was a spree of busted car windows in the parking lot. Apparently somebody came to the hotel parking lot and randomly broke windows of a few parked cars. I do not blame the hotel for the incident. 2 days after the incident however, the parking lot still had the glass from the broken windows strewn about the parking lot. This felt negligent and not taking pride in the condition of the parking lot. The more serious incident happened on the last evening of our stay - the night that made us check out sooner than our plans had called. Our room was surrounded by partiers. There was loud music late in the night, kids running around and a strong stench of marijuana coming into our room. I called the front desk at 10:30 p.m. and begged for relief. NOTHING was done. At 11:30 p.m. the noise and smell persisted, and my wife begged me to not call the front desk and that we would simply check out in the morning. The noise kept going until at least 1:00 a.m., when I fell asleep from being too tired. This felt negligent and not taking pride in the upkeep of their property or the well being of their guests. I talked to the front desk in the morning while checking out and explained everything above. I received sincere apologies and a promise to get a call from the GM with a financial accommodation. I hope I receive this call. Bottom line - Good location and good plumbing; I felt that the personnel had no idea how to run a hotel, did not take pride in the condition of the facility and did not want to handle any difficult conversations with rowdy guests...
When we arrived at our room, the door was not closed. When I called the front desk to ask about it, I was told it was just housekeeping. How would the desk clerk know that housekeeping had been in our room and left the door open? Does that mean that housekeeping regularly leaves the room doors open? There was mold in the shower, and the water temperature control knob would not hold at a decent temperature. I had to turn it back to a pretty cool temperature in order for it to hold still or I had to turn it past a comfortable temperature to too hot for it to hold. If I stopped anywhere in between the knob would slip on down and make the water hotter - too hot to shower in. They wanted us to pay $10 ea for the breakfast bar, and I'm a silver member of the Hilton Honors club.
Upon checking in I got to witness Woman by the name tag Miranda be very rude to another employee.. I thought this was very unpleasant and unprofessional as a upper management person. I almost got a contact from several employees walking past the front desk to their assigned jobs there. I was so tired of smelling Weed that whole weekend.. Unless you want to get High or smoke weed I would not recommend this place.. Everyone is cousins from what a long term guest to me that night st the restaurant there. From the GM to the AGM They both seemed like they were not having a good day by their face expressions. The GM Mario who that's what they were calling him was going off about a employee calling in from housekeeping dept.. Not good business practices here at all. On top of that they all had rooms there.. I KNOW I saw several employees that night out of uniform going in rooms.. This was during the snow episode Memphis had 2 weeks ago.. Also heard Miranda AGM cursing as she was getting on the elevator going to her room. No respect for guests.. This use to be a top notch hotel..But bad Management can Run it in the Ground real fast.I did encounter 2 other good staff Bre and John they both were Outstanding.

Happened to be staying here at same time as basketball tourney guests but despite the crowd, the staff attended to all of our needs in a timely fashion. Bed was comfortable although we used our own pillows. Room was quiet. Road noise was quiet. We would stay here again.
