This is really a bike shop with a coffee cafe inside. Very clever and cool idea come to life! We had the chicken empanadas and the Creamsicle cold brew. Delicious ? Great stop for cyclists doing a long ride.

Every thing about this place is what I want in a cafe. Delicious coffee forward drinks, the pastries are locally sourced, the baristas are adorable, the bike mechanics are super friendly, the bathrooms are clean, I could literally go on and on.
The only issue I have is that it’s not in midtown.

I’ve been a regular here for 12 months. I’ve hopped from shop to shop over the years, and overall, this is hands down the best coffee shop in the Memphis area.
We’re very slowly, increasingly getting spoiled with coffee gems across town, but few other spots have nailed the combination of taste, service, and atmosphere than Team Car Cafe.
It’s cool that they’re connected to a bike shop, which makes it even more unique, and the guys running the bike shop are super friendly.
But that doesn’t mean the coffee is a gimmick or afterthought. Since I started coming here, the coffee - the actual espresso - is noticeably high quality and carefully extracted. I get most of my drinks plain (hot and iced lattes) and it stands out.
Over the last few months, the team has released a bunch of new drinks and food items, and the pace of development and launches has picked up. The quality has only increased - it’s rare to get variety and quality and the team has done it. Many drinks on their rotating menu have been a favorite for a few weeks or months, or longer.
Everyone is friendly at Team Car, and the vibe is great. The bike shop can get a little busy at times, but I’m used to the machines that run few seconds occasionally. Overall, it’s a sophisticated but not uptight vibe.
Saturday mornings can be super busy.
If you haven’t visited this hidden gem, make plans to. I accidentally found this place since it’s not visible from the street, and I’m glad I gave it a try.
