My Christmas wish was for an iced Americano was ruined. I walked in excited, but left disappointed. I ordered an iced americano with a splash of oat milk and some syrup. After sitting down, I was called back to the front counter. Instead of receiving my drink, they told me that they can’t make and iced americano (water and espresso) because the hot water would melt the ice. I asked if they could just use cold water instead of hot water so the ice wouldn’t melt. I work at a coffee shop and make americanos like this all the time, so I know that it can be done with no problem. It’s really actually very simple, but the baristas insisted that it couldnt be done. Instead they offered me a cold brew. I decided to let it go and settle for a cold brew. The barista asked if I still wanted a splash of milk and syrup in it, which I confirmed that I did. I sat down again and waited 10 minutes. Eventually I started to question whether my drink would ever come. We went up to the counter and to our surprise, my drink had been forgotten and never made. They made it quickly, but it didn’t have oat milk or the syrup is asked for. I decided to just settle for the plain cold brew. The cold brew was actually pretty good, just not what I ordered.Almost everyone else in our group liked their drinks and the space was nice too. I think that the confusion with my drink was just a one time problem, and I would come again, but it definitely did give me a not-so-great first impression.

The poor kids who work here need some training in customer service... other than that, amazing coffee, amazing food, great decor inside and out. Beware if you are paying cash, to ask them to take the credit card processing fee off of your bill. They seem to automatically add it, even if you are paying cash, so be mindful!It's a little pricier than most places.******Also, their kitchen closes early, at 2:30pm, apparently, and there is no sign or notice anywhere telling you this... they also continue to display the food menu after that hour, which is confusing. ******My favorite is the caramel frappe, outstanding!The outdoor fireplace is awesome for chilly days! ?
My wife and I don't live in Dayton, but we stopped there on our travels to be most pleased with the service, food (especially the food) and ambiance. A+++!
