Food is ok, but it takes far too long to make, considering the quality and taste. The Ice cream products are much better, but nothing unique or really that special. The service is the main downside unfortunately, an entire meal was left of my order because the guy just forgot to write it down.
We stopped in here for a bit of nostalgia. My husband used to go here in high school. It was like stepping into a charming time warp. The interior remains unchanged from its build in the mid1980s. The girl at the counter was helpful and friendly. The food was made fresh and very tasty. The Peddler was available for no cost in a newspaper display, it's a local buy and sell paper.
We each had the #4, double cheeseburger, fries, and a shake (for an additional $3.30 over a soft drink). Highly recommend the hot fudge milk shake. It is miles better than Sonic's version.
They also serve soft serve chocolate ice cream, which is hard to find in Nashville so that was also a nice option to see.
So if you're ever passing through Dover, definitely stop in for a burger and a shake.
Vegetarian options: There are any number of ice cream offerings, and French fries.
