The food is good but they will give you diarrhea. The chances of you getting diarrhea when eating yamato food is in the medium range. If you didnt get diarrhea the last time you ate here.. You will probably get it next time. When you walk in the mayo sauce is sitting out in the open unrefridgerated so what is behind the privacy of the kitchen walls is even more contamination and neglect
Very good, have always been hesitant to try this spot and I am disappointed it took me this long. Will definitely be back. Walawala roll was delicious.
Sushi was good, the fried oysters were excellent. My soup came out room temperature with ice cold tofu in it.
Our waitress tonight was amazing. I never caught her name but she was super sweat and gave us great service. Food was priced well and came out fast. If we are ever in the area again we will come back.
Great sushi.
Really unfortunate that this was such a let down. I’ve had seriously good luck in Dunlap but not today. Firstly I was greeted with a lack of any attention and I have empathy for my server as she looked over worked and exhausted, but the food was really the downfall. My entree was mediocre at best, I understand this is TN and will not be fully authentic but it was really just grilled chicken and rice with some steamed vegetables. The Pork dumplings were great which compensated for my flavorless and really pathetic miso soup that settled in minutes served luke warm. The restaurant itself is pretty dull but the food should really be the highlight of any restaurant. Tipped my waitress 20 and although she didn’t seem thankful my experience was far from her fault but the chefs. Certainly wouldn’t recommend and I do the business makes a comeback or I caught the restaurant on an off day and it improves, I think Dunlap is a great spot for a Japanese steak house.
Very cute restaurant. Really good food and sushi.
Great food!nice clean little place ..The shrimp and chicken great!!!
10 out of 10 would not recommend!!! The atmosphere is extremely hostile like your not even welcome to be in there to eat, was not asked where we wanted to sit or told where to sit so we sat our self, was clearly watched sit down and was 25 minutes before our menu was even brought out to us, took another hour for the food to arrive, so when it was time to leave the waitress said you will pay at the front, so I asked for a Togo bag for my food and a drink Togo they said we are out of tea which is what I was drinking so I said that is no big deal I’ll take a Dr Pepper Togo instead, then they handed me a new copy of my bill which was $3 higher than the first, I looked for a sign that said they charge processing on a debit card I didn’t see one so I asked the girl do y’all charge processing on debit cards? She said no you go another drink, I said well I just asked if I could get a drink to go, do they cost extra? No you got a different kind, I said I got a different kind because you was out of tea, I said just don’t worry about it then I don’t need a Togo drink for $3 so she ran my card yet again and again I don’t know why she kept running my card but by the time I got to the parking lot to check my bank statement it had done pulled out the money for 3 peoples meals. So I went back in and asked to speak with a manager or a owner, I was yelled at and they said no one is here and I need to talk to the waitress who was not the one who charged my card 3 times to begin with, she told me that there was in fact and owner there they they just couldn’t speak any English and the girl who ran my card 3 times was just left to run the place as she seen fit, the charges for 2 of the meals are supposed to be voided but who knows, so for one meal and a sushi roll has cost me right at $120, I just pray I get my money back and would highly advise anyone to not eat here unless you like being treated like you not welcome DEFINITELY NO SOUTHER HOSPITALITY!!!
Stopped by on 12/30 (Monday) at 6 pm and faced closed business with no signs at the door about closure or operational hours. We looking forward to visit this place but Google hours are definitely outdated and business Facebook has last activity in 2021 :(

The food here is some of the best! The people that work here are amazing and so friendly. The prices are great and the amount of food you get, you will definitely get full and your money’s worth! I eat here at least 4 times a month and the wait time for your pickup order is only 15 minutes.
You can’t beat this place for really good food and service. Their Hibachi is my favorite.
Absolutely amazing sushi, enjoyed 3 kinds of rolls and left not a scrap
Great food and service
Ok I am thrilled to leave this review for this tiny small town restaurant! Yamato is a small franchise and is found in many smaller towns. They are usually good ish (but in all fairness I am a sushi/sashimi snob). I am traveling for work in Dunlap TN and went here because there are very few non fast food choices. However, the sushi is great! One of the best hand rolls I have ever had full of salmon, tuna, avocado for 5.99 and chef rolls are around 10$ for a large roll then they have small simple rolls for 4.99 all portions were fare…sushi is expensive everywhere so I was shocked at how large the rolls were. I ate there 3 times in 4 days and it was consistent and it’s very reasonably priced. Do not let the location fool you. They are in a small fairly rundown strip mall, but go in and give them a chance. I think he will be incredibly pleased with your meal.

I really enjoyed the chicken hibachi. The two young men that work there are very hard workers, I asked for a refill on my drink and he had it back to the table in 10 seconds. I really appreciate seeing young men working for their money nowadays instead of getting it from their parents.
