We were in town for about a week and decided to try Big Dan's for the first time. This is the kind of place the will make you realize you have been eating fake BBQ most of your life. We had the sliced brisket and Burnt ends both were amazingly smokey and tender. Definitely going back to Big Dan's next time I'm in town.

We went there for lunch on 11/15/24 Friday and had pulled chicken sandwiches cooked in their own BBQ sauce. I had the loaded potato salad and my wife chose French fries. The sandwiches and sauce were really great and the potato salad was some of the best I've ever had and I like to think of myself as a potato salad connesiour as I make it at home sometimes. The sweet BBQ sauce that they use was so good that we asked if we could buy some to take with us. We ended up buying a pint of it and a slice of Peanut butter pie to bring home. Our waitress Jen was just great.
Parking: Take a walk around town. There's interesting shops.

A few of us Texans came through and we know barbecue. That pulled pork sandwich was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches we've ever had. We got to meet and talk with Big Dan, he's a passionate owner that cares about his craft and his customers. I would go out of my way to come back!
The Elysium of meat eaters. All the meat. Nothing is bad here. The sides are great. Even the sauces are amazing. I try to go here as often as I can but it's mandatory if I go downtown. The staff is always hospitable too! There's sometimes old timey music going on inside and I dig it. The atmosphere needs something but I can't offer any recommendations as I'm terrible at that.

I was undecided while ordering….. The nice lady talked me into ordering half burnt ends and half BBQ…….both were spectacular. I really enjoyed trying all the hand crafted sauces.

Don't shy away from this local gem when passing through. You won't be disappointed with the flavors they pack in their BBQ. Some can be dry, but the sauce they put with it pairs like a fine wine. Sides are fairly generic but they don't take away from the main course. Potato salad is a fantastic take on the traditional side dish. Mixed with the French fries is surprisingly tasty. Was not expecting much, but was happily impressed. Bonus is they teamed up with the tap house next door and they'll bring you your food while you enjoy a nice brew.
