Hunan Chinese Restaurant

Soooo good. And I’m accustomed to NYC Chinese food. Try the spicy garlic shrimp. And say hi to Lisa or the nice lady who runs the place.

We have lived in Johnson City for 4 years this is the best Chinese food we've had. It was delicious 😋 service was excellent Carol was our waitress she was awesome very attentive. Delicious food 😋

I would give zero starts but the only way to leave a review was to give a star. Worst food looks unappetizing and was! Charges you like crazy all the food looks steamed with no flavor . Lady was very rude when i asked for a few soy sauce packets. All she said was it was in the bag. I checked the bag there were 4 sauces for 5 meals .

This place isn't fancy, but food is good, fresh and decent price. Its in Elizabethton Tennessee, if you want a fancy, and more expensive Chinese place drive to Johnson City or Boone NC. I've had good Chinese food in New York, Maryland, Florida, this place is just as good. Negative posts have to be from Negative, chronic, complainer type of douche bags.

Spent short trip here, luckily ran into this place! Dishes came out fast with decent portions, ma’po’ tofu was a blast(if yall get a chance plz do)
Forgot to ask for a name, but the previous owner of this place is an extremely welcoming sweet lady, she also recommended multiple landscapes & events within the area:)

I've been eating at Hunans since 1987 and the only thing I miss is the original building. It had great atmosphere. I can honestly say I have NEVER gotten anything but top notch delicious food from Hunans. There is no place in East Tennessee that makes a better egg roll. Every place else is nothing but a grease bomb. LUV U HUNANS!! Keep up the good work and GREAT food!!

How do you mess up orange chicken? A staple Chinese dish and you made 2 chicken cutlets that were soggy and didn't have hardly any sauce? Why wasn't it cut up and made like normal orange chicken? If I got that in restaurant, I would have sent it back. It's soggy and if I really wanted chicken and rice, I'd have saved $20 and made it myself... disappointed.

We enjoyed our buffet of food that we ordered. The pot stickers, crab ragoons, General Tso’s chicken, broccoli, fried rice steamed white rice, the lo mein. The egg rolls, what else was ordered? Hmmm 🤔 and the Wonton Soup were absolutely delicious. Great portions we have enough food for 3 days my stomach could not eat it all at once 😂 We will be comming back. Thank you so much. 😊

It was my first visit, and the food was delicious, as I had heard. The rice was fresh and fluffy. The vegetables were tender and cooked to perfection. The vegetable roll had the perfect crunch. Wonton soup and crunchy chips were spot on. Everyone was super nice, friendly, and professional. Great service, value, and I will be back.

Looks better than it tastes. Their sweet and sour chicken is just a chicken cutlet not tempura, the low mien tastes like it was seasoned with a chicken ramen flavor packet, and overall was just left dissatisfied

Good Chinese food is hard to find in NE Tennessee. I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. Food was OK, not great but decent. Service was friendly. Prices were good. Dining room was clean and quiet.
