This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! Great food, service and prices. I usually have to take half of my meal home because the portions are so generous.

This was the best dining experience of my life!! Great food , great service, nice clean restaurant. 10 out of 10! No one walked by without checking on us (which was very often) food was perfect, hot and delicious. Its an hour plus from our home but we definitely will be returning!

Great Mexican place

Went with a group of eight on a Friday night. Had great service and food was very tasty from Tacos to oysters and scallops and all in between. Margaritas of various flavors interesting and fun. I enjoyed it all. We will return.

Update: we went a 2nd time and had the beef and the chicken Fajitas. Excellent choice. The star of the show was the tableside guacamole. It was amazing and inexpensive
They served us some wonderful chips as we sat down with some bean dip. We ordered a small bowl of the cheese dip to go with. Very good. Thick and tasty. My wife had the chicken chimichangas. They were massive and included the best shredded chicken ever. I had the steak fajitas with black beans corn cheese grill jalapeño peppers green peppers queso plus a drizzle of sour cream all over Fresh tortilla chips. Wonderful. The atmosphere was great. Our server was very friendly, checked in with us regularly and we enjoyed everything.

I used to love this place but it has definitely gone downhill. I always order vegetarian. The last 3 times I went there the food was terrible. This last one must have sat around too long or was reheated too many times. My enchilada was hard as concrete on both ends and the cheese was burnt to the plate. I managed to get one bite out of the middle. Last couple times everything has had a general soapy taste. I gave them extra chances because I loved coming here until recently, in spite of the taxidermy decor overload. I probably won't be back to see if it's good again. 💔

Mexican Restaurants are generally the same. What sets them apart is the service, the quality of the food, and friendly staff. Puerto Nuevo is one of the best. The food was good, and the portions are huge. I suggest you share an order unless you are really hungry. The dining area is huge, very comfortable. The service was the best part of our meal. We were a large group with separate and interesting orders. Fredi took care of us like a pro.

We had a fantastic meal at this Mexican restaurant in Elizabethton! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and treated like family. Our waitress was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The rest of the staff was just as welcoming and made the whole dining experience feel special. The food was bursting with authentic flavor, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The chips and bean dip were addicting, the entrees were delicious and generously portioned. You can tell the whole team takes pride in what they do. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Mexican food and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!
