This place is absolutely amazing in every way! The food is delicious, the people are wonderful, and the atmosphere is beautiful and warm. Holden took care of us, and he was awesome! He was so friendly, and made sure we had everything we wanted throughout the meal. I had the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life! This place will be a favorite of ours, and we can’t wait to go back!

Our server was Kade and he was top notch! We received the best service we've had in years, thanks, Kade!

Reuben sandwich was not very traditional but was very good. Never been much of a french fry guy but even their fries were fantastic. Service was good, love the atmosphere and the band was good background music ? for a nice mellow experience.

We were able to visit with the owners and chef and they gave us the history of their restaurant and town square. Loved getting to learn about this great little place. Will definitely be back. We were taking a drive from Cookeville over to Defeated Creek today and drove through Gainesboro. Decided to find a place to eat lunch. Stopped at The Bull & Thistle to find an awesome atmosphere, friendly service, and great food. We got to meet the owners and learn a little about the building. We don’t come up this way very often but when we do, we will definitely be back to this restaurant.

We went there for the third time ordered a steak medium. It came out rare when I tasted it. It was really good then they took it back and cooked. It medium for me and it tasted metallic so they gave me choice of pasta pasta with chicken pasta with crab, and I chose the pasta with crab, I got the pasta with chicken that was terrible. It tasted like pasta with mayonnaise. The waitress was exceptional. No reflection on her she was really good I asked the manager and when I saw that the steak was still on the check and he said he wasn’t refunding my money because 10 other steaks had gone out and they were excellent and I said well mine wasn’t it was in the beginning and then I had that metallic taste and it was well done. I asked for medium, so I am never going back there again and I’m gonna tell every person I meet how bad it was and how I was treated by the manager

Very well designed layout of the restaurant. The food was fantastic, but what was even more impressive was the presentation of each entrée. The service was also fantastic very apologetic if anything went wrong and compensated you on your check if so. Would highly recommend anyone traveling 45 minutes to an hour to definitely come here. It took us 45 minutes to get here and it was well worth it.

Our server Brandon was great- truly a phenomenal server. We were told kitchen was backed up before we sat and were willing to wait. Food took over an hour to arrive. The hot honey sandwich was delicious, the chicken and waffles were the worst I’ve had. The manager offered us a dessert for the trouble but never came back to ask what dessert we wanted, instead was talking with buddies and on the phone. Not sure if I would come back, feels like we wasted $50 for brunch today.

Not sure what happened with this place, have always had an amazing experience in the past. Past two visits we have waited almost 2 hours for low quality food that does not match the menu description. Service is still wonderful. But food is too expensive to be playing with quality. Doubt we will be back.
