Germantown Commissary

I ate here for Father’s Day, 6.15.25, and had the burnt end bologna plate. I was the only person in my party that had something different. I ended up getting food poisoning from this. I called to report it to the collierville location this morning, to the manager Stephanie, and was met with “oh great now the health department will be out here, thanks”. No apology. No asking if I’m okay. No asking what I ate. I told Stephanie it was very disappointing that I was met with anger by reporting getting sick from their restaurant. I told her I wanted nothing other than to notify them, and because of her horrible response, my family will no longer recommend or frequent this restaurant.

Ordered brisket it was dry tough and rubbery absolutely horrible.

Ordered ribs again dry and the back membrane was not removed. Pitiful.

Ordered pulled pork 12 pack. Buns were very stale. Again dry and not very flavorful.

Ordered banana pudding. It was okay but not great.

Beans were good.

Potato salad was good.

Been using the Germantown commissary for many many years and recently their food has gone to crap

I won’t go back after spending $250 for mostly horrible food.

Germantown Commissary: Ribs that'll Make You Swoon!
Okay, folks, listen up! If you're anywhere near Germantown, TN, and you've got a hankering for barbecue, do yourself a favor and head straight to Germantown Commissary. This place is the real deal!
Let's talk ribs. Oh, the ribs! These were some of the best I've ever had – fall-off-the-bone tender, with a perfect smoky flavor that's not too overpowering. The meat practically melted in my mouth.
And the sides? Don't even get me started! The sweet tea was just the right amount of sweet, the sausage link had a fantastic snap and juicy flavor, and the banana pudding... pure comfort food heaven. Creamy, dreamy, and with just the right amount of banana and vanilla wafer goodness.
Honestly, I can't find a single fault with this place. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was classic barbecue joint, and the food was out of this world. If you're a barbecue lover, Germantown Commissary is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!

Decided to try here again and have the food delivered. Food arrived cold but that may be partially on the driver fault. Food does not match descriptions or pictures. Sandwich had no toppings or fixings on the side. BBQ sandwich had no sauce on the meat and none on the side. I dont know who can eat dry cold food that suppose to be a hot meal. Not worth the 40 bucks I spent at all. Done with this location.

Brisket wasn’t good at all but the smoked turkey is a 10/10. Onion rings are spectacular and the pull pork nachos are great too.

Don’t order the brisket and you’re good.

A small place doing big things with a smoker! The pulled pork was 5 star and the ribs had just the right hit of smoke to pop. The brisket was lacking a bit but hey 3 out of 4 meats on my plate were perfect. Mac n cheese was mushy but the beans were fair. The price for quality and quantity are amazing! So come by, pray for a parking spot or be ready to walk a bit.

The atmosphere is many decades prior to now. This feels like a Germantown staple location. The pulled pork barbecue is really good and the homemade banana pudding is dangerously good! Parking options are not great.

I can't thank the team at The Commissary on Germantown Parkway enough for their excellent service! My wife was in labor and suddenly had a craving for a full order from The Commissary. We ordered early, but when we received our meal, we noticed it was missing cheese. When we called to let them know, the staff went above and beyond to make things right. They remade the entire order quickly and without hesitation. I truly appreciated their dedication to making sure we were happy, especially during such an important moment for us. Thank you, Commissary team, for turning a little hiccup into an amazing experience!
