Limelight transported me to a calming and cool oasis in the midst of the blistering summer of Memphis. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in its sun room with a neutral natural palette that I once indulged myself at the Rose Tavern in Canandaigua in Upstate New York. That nostalgic feeling of being in a beautiful tavern is pure delight. Absolutely beautiful restaurant, truly deserves limelight recognition in Germantown.
Our darling Annalise server was extremely friendly. We loved the presentation of our dinner, but the octopus was a bit soft for our taste. I've had plenty of octopus in other cities and understand the dish is typically more expensive, but a small single mediocre tentacle is quite pricey for $28. I personally prefer a crispy and firmer chew for octopus. The scallops and shishito peppers were a delightful pairing.
Valet parking shouldn't be forced upon the customer though? I felt bad that I don't carry cash to tip the valet, and valet is mandatory unless you want to park on the side streets and walk over. Do carry any cash! I wish that a portion of the parking lot was open for self parking though as those boys don't need to help out every guest who don't need valet and subjecting them to wait around for the boys to grab cars that we're perfectly capable of doing ourselves.

Limelight offers a unique dining experience. I've never been disappointed with the taste of any of dishes I've ordered there. However, it is expensive and the portions are smaller than what you normally expect. They do add a charge for the alcohol tax, which was a surprise considering that the prices of the drinks were relatively high. Many restaurants include the tax in the price of the drink rather than adding an additional charge to the bill. I would consider Limelight to be an adults only restaurant, definitely not for kids. If there was a rating for value, I would only give Limelight 2 stars.

I had a very nice meal here with a group of people from work. The food overall was good as were the cocktails. Our servers were very attentive, and they did a great job. One thing to be aware of - the portion sizes can be a little small, especially if you're used to going to the steakhouses in the area or even to comparable places like Southern Social. If you're going with a group with large appetites, I'd recommend getting a number of small plates to share (we ordered double orders on the small plates since there were seven of us) in addition to entrees. I'm not complaining - just giving a heads-up is all. A few other reviews commented on the pacing of the food - the food comes out out at a leisurely pace (we went on a weekday), so make sure to allow for enough time for your meal, too.

We went there on Tuesday this week since it is next to my office. Place was totally unorganized and chaotic. They had big group and cheff could not keep up. My wife is Vegetarian and when we asked if cheff can make some dish for her waitress got mad and said “ I don’t think so “ . “ Cheff is too busy . That was rude and inappropriate. She did not get any entries. I had snapper which was just okay . My friend had lamb chops and they served her cold meat ! She did not want to say anything so we just ate . I had made reservations online and I kept on getting text messages after saying yes three times if we were coming !! When I was seated I got another text stating your reservation is canceled since you did not show up ! Freak show which is not cheap either .

The cleanest & tastiest oysters I’ve had!
10/10
The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked — paired with a seasonal butter.
Lastly, the cocktails were fantastic! The mixologists know what they’re doing with all these local and fresh ingredients. I loved eating here while visiting Memphis!

The experience was phenomenal from start to finish. The valet personnel were our first point of contact and made us feel welcome. Indiana, our waitress, turned dinner into a delectable experience — each item on the menu provided rich flavors that correlated with the current season of food. The atmosphere was clean, aesthetically eclectic, with moody lighting that created a relaxing and warm ambiance. My husband truly found a gem and we are happy to have celebrated our 3rd anniversary here. We will be back!

Every single thing I ordered was bland and uninspiring. It looks like a restaurant with great food but the decor and atmosphere are the most interesting things about this place. I don't mind paying more for food but it should be a delicious and exciting experience.
I've lived in and visited wonderful cities with an incredible array of cultures, cuisines, and flavors. I've now lived in Memphis nearly 2 years and the food has been incredibly disappointing across the board. Restaurants like Limelight are pricing their menu like a new modern restaurant, but they don't taste like it. There seems to be an actual disconnect from the food.
Push the flavor boundary a bit. Don't put bland pastas (the crawfish spaghetti) on the menu. Especially since the menu is rather small, make everything carry weight. There isn't much offered for dessert and gelato should be the real thing not flavored. I ordered pistacho which was more pistachio ''flavored'' and a weird artificial green.
Again, I don't mind spending more when eating out especially if it means I'm getting great service and delicious food. Unfortunately, Limelight misses the mark.
Ps- The service from valet to bartender were great. The restaurant is gorgeous inside and the seating is intimate. The lighting is also beautiful. The bar is very cute but could use a deep clean behind the bar and some organization. They have a lot of clutter and guest don't really need to see all that stuff.
Also!! The vaulted ceiling is great but it needs a MAJOR clean. The dust or mold, whatever it is, should be removed.

Limelight was very close to a perfect meal. From the natural light pouring into our section of the restaurant, to our incredible server, to every delicious menu item we tried. The crispy chickpeas were absolutely the sleeper hit of the entire meal. This is a place I will absolutely visit again.

Food portions have gotten smaller. Prices have increased. Closing hours are silly. 9pm on a Friday night! And then you get there at 8:15 and are being rushed and told to order right now because the kitchen is closing. Unacceptable.
