Gathering Place Cafe

So disappointed with the food with such great reviews, nice people and environment. We ordered different items so we could try a good selection. There was basically no taste and we expected some southern flavoring. Meats were very dry. We had steak with gravy, lightly breaded chicken, green beans, pintos, mashed potatoes, apples. Cornbread was ok, but they just had margarine. Really, really wanted to make it a regular based on reviews. We are just thankful we tried it before taking guests.

After reading reviews & being recommended by a local to eat at The Gathering Place while in town, my Mom & I were excited to try it out. We arrived at 4:45 pm on a Friday. There was a 40 minute wait to be seated which was fine. We got seated & were immediately given menus. We then waited 15 minutes on our waitress, Kendra, to take our drink & food order. Kendra was very sweet & apologetic about the wait. We did noticed people that came in after us were getting waited on before us but that's fine - I'm usually pretty patient. My Mom & I ordered 2 sweet teas & we were sharing a plate of a chicken breast, green beans, mac-n-cheese & a roll. Kendra immediately brought our sweet teas to us. We then proceeded to wait 55 minutes on our shared meal that never came. We disappointingly decided to just get up & leave. We ended up eating ham biscuits from Bojangles. I hope others have a better experience at The Gathering Place than we did!

What a find - quaint and charming roadside restaurant with good iced tea, wonderful chicken salad plate, and very reasonable prices. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

It’s a bit off the beaten path, attached to a hardware store (10 miles from Publix which was where we were headed) It was so much more than one would expect from the outside. Spacious, clean and welcoming, nicely decorated. The food was fantastic. We opted for bacon cheeseburgers with fries. The fries were perfect, crunchy outside soft inside, the burger was delicious. One warning, it’s a cash only establishment, but our total bill was 31 dollars this two bacon cheeseburgers and fries and 2 sweet teas. Easily affordable. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent place to eat! The prime rib is the best I've ever had! The desserts are homemade & ALL are amazing!! ♥️

Get food. I went with my grandpa and cousin for the first time. And I love this place. Such a warm environment and so welcoming. Although I was a bit shocked that they only took cash when we went.

1st time here. Great service. Salad was very good. What do they dip the crackers in?! Amazing! Will be back.

When we went it was super busy, but after a small amount of time waiting we were seated. I loved what I ordered. The service was great! I would definitely recommend to others.

First time here. The place is very clean. The hostess and waitress are very friendly. We had the homemade onion rings. They were good but some a little more on the burnt side. My husband had the Italian Sub and sweet potato casserole and said it was all good. I ordered breaded shrimp, potatoes with onions, slaw, and roll. All good.
