Gathering Place Cafe

Get food. I went with my grandpa and cousin for the first time. And I love this place. Such a warm environment and so welcoming. Although I was a bit shocked that they only took cash when we went.

1st time here. Great service. Salad was very good. What do they dip the crackers in?! Amazing! Will be back.

When we went it was super busy, but after a small amount of time waiting we were seated. I loved what I ordered. The service was great! I would definitely recommend to others.

First time here. The place is very clean. The hostess and waitress are very friendly. We had the homemade onion rings. They were good but some a little more on the burnt side. My husband had the Italian Sub and sweet potato casserole and said it was all good. I ordered breaded shrimp, potatoes with onions, slaw, and roll. All good.

Terrible. The food was terrible when I was here, they even took money for food they never gave us, even with questioning. Never again. Had a man, I don't know who, who also was very off-putting. It has been quite a while however, but from last I heard from someone I know they said even with new owners it is the exact same.

The resturant looks nice after being remodeled . The service was good but food prices have gone up & food quality has gone down alot . My wife & I had grilled chicken both looked good but we're dry and tough . Mashed potatoes and corn were so cold they would not melt a butter party. This used to be one of our favorite resturants but Not Anymore !

I’ve eaten here several times and have never been dissatisfied.
It is some of the most delicious food I’ve ever eaten.
Today I took my sister, neice and great neice there for lunch.
The food is so much like our late mother used to prepare.
It is amazing to have home cooking food that rivals any and all restaurants.
The place itself is very unassuming and spotlessly clean.
The staff are warm and welcoming the minute you walk in the door.
Please don’t go out here thinking you are going to a place that’s all fancy because it isn’t.
It’s perfectly prepared comfort food in a clean and welcoming environment.
It is a cash only place but you can use an ATM next door if needed.
Don’t miss this jewel of a rest!

Great place to eat. The service has always been wonderful. The food is spot on.

Came into town for a concert and wanted a unique place to eat. So glad we decided to try The Gathering Place Cafe. It has a cozy, comfortable atmosphere which makes one feel welcome while serving a plate of homecooked food that makes you feel like you are visiting your grandma for dinner. It was a busy evening so it did take a little while to get our food but we started with the onion rings as an appetizer which were outstanding and finished with the meatloaf served with moist cornbread. Good size portions and the prices are fair. My only complaint is that I was too full to try one of their homemade desserts. If I lived in town I would eat at this restaurant several times per month.

The BEST homemade food ever and so many choices too!! ? Peach cobbler tasted like my Great Grandmama baking was too!! Every bite a delectable delight!! So friendly and courteous as well!! A+++++++ score for sure!! We will go there ALOT!! Loved the food tender and fresh tomatoes from the garden. You must go there!

First time visiting the Gathering was greeted by the host upon entering with eye contact. I expressed this was our first visit there, and then she came around the counter and brought the menus and seated us. The food was not the greatest. The steak and gravy was bland. The gravy had a good taste, but there was no salt and pepper seasoning or any other seasoning to the meat; the mashed potatoes had too much salt, and the macaroni and cheese was good but lacked salt and pepper. When we got ready to leave and pay, I handed the debit card to the host and she said it's cash only. I said well, I did not know that. She said oh there's a sign right here. Well first of all I did not see the sign because it was on the front of the counter, and when I walked in I made eye contact with her and walked up to the side of the counter. Therefore, they should make that cash only sign more visible like on a easel standing on the counter when you walk in and can see it. Furthermore, possibly put it on each menu so that the customer will know that it's cash only. The waitress was wonderful, but we will not go back due to the food not being the best and I almost felt like the host scolded me telling me well, "the sign was right there for cash only". It wasn't in plain sight when it was on the side, and I walked in and made eye contact with the host.

Food,service, atmosphere excellent. Loved the fried green tomatoes, steak and baked potato ?. YUM. ALSO the blue berry cobbler.
