In Chattanooga for a work trip. Passed this place a year ago and was intrigued so decided to drive on up for lunch. Food was awesome. We had grilled oysters, crab cake beignets, and the taste of new Orleans sampler which had just about everything. Everything was delicious and I will definitely be back next time I'm up this way. Waitress was by herself but we were well taken care of even though she had several tables. I do recommend they replace the carpet but again, the food and service were great. If you like Cajun food, this is definitely a must have.

My hubby grew up in Louisiana with his grandparents - it was so nostalgic for him I could literally visibly see him having memories of his childhood! The food was delicious and authentic!! You got our seal of approval. We started off with the crab cake beignets which were great. I had the Maple bourbon chicken and that crisp of the skin was perfect - the Mac & cheese is out of this world and my hubby had the steak with creamed spinach and red beans and rice and loved every bit of it. The staff are so friendly it’s a great hide-away of Cajun food!

I'm not big on bad reviews because everyone has bad days. But today was rough. Stopped in around 230pm with a buddy for some food. He said good things about the food there and I had been wanting to try it.The service was good. We caught the server at the end of the shift so we had 2 servers who were both pleasant. Couldn't explain what the Etoufee was to my buddy but other than that her recommendations seemed genuine.Appetizers we have were very good, especially the cajun popcorn. Weren't greasy at all. The etoufee was lukewarm when it came out with very little seasoning. Plus the bread was burnt to hell. My grilled shrimp were cold and burnt to a crisp. They tried to cover it up with more seasoning but it left ash on my plate it was so burnt. Mac and cheese was good, rice was mushy and had little flavor. There are so few places to eat out here I had high hopes.Atmosphere wise it was a nice little place. Servers kids were running around but I know school is out and daycare is ridiculous these days. People really shouldn't hold that against the staff or owner these days. I actually love that the owner allows the staff to bring their kids in. I respect the hell out of that.Last thing on the food, it has made both of us a little sick, I have spent the last couple hours chugging water and back and forth to the toilet. I'll give this place another shot probably during busier hours to see if they can do better

So good. My husband is really picky about fried catfish and it was so flavorful. Can’t wait till we pass this way again to have it again!

Our first visit was about 2 hours before closing on a weeknight. There were only 2 cars in the parking lot so we were concerned that it might not be good. We decided to go ahead and try it anyway and I’m so glad we did. Our server was friendly and took good care of us. I had the pork chops (seasoned perfectly), mac & cheese and sweet potato fries. It was all really good. If you decide to eat here do not pass up the mac and cheese because it’s a must get side- top 3 of best I’ve ever eaten! Hubby had a Cajun sampler entree and he liked all of it with the Étouffée being his favorite. We will definitely be back and we are looking forward to trying their Brunch menu.

YOU MUST STOP HERE. BEST CAJUN FOOD ANYWHERE INCLUDING NEW ORLEANS. Stopped through here while traveling and so grateful we did. This food blew New Orleans cooking out of the water as this was the most amazing southern cooking we ever had. Ken built this kitchen during COVID and he and Amanda now run the friendliest and tastiest Cajun restaurant. To hear the story and taste the love in the food was such a treat. You have to try the sampler giving you a taste of all Ken’s signature dishes. The Maple Bourbon cheesecake rivaled even the most delicious high end cheesecakes out there. My wife who doesn’t eat cheesecake even loved it. Also the pricing was so reasonable. Perfect combo. Bottom line 10 out of 10 would recommend. Make this a destination eatery nationwide. Period.

I had never heard of this place before and I am SO sorry that I hadn't! Our party of seven decided to check it out and just, Wow! Everything was positively delicious and perfectly prepared. The spice ratios were absolutely superb. We ended up sharing food because none of us could believe how great everything was! I cannot say enough good things about this place. The chef came out and took our order, made the whole experience feel really special. I will definitely be coming here as a regular from now on!
Dietary restrictions: One celiac in our party and chef knew exactly what to do. Glad to report that there were no issues!

Stopped in for lunch while road tripping through the smoky mountains and Tennessee. We both ordered po boys and fish was moist and the fried chicken juicy. The fried okra was some of the best I’ve ever had as well. Spice mixture was just right on everything!

First time at Succotash and decided to have my birthday meal here. Sorry I waited so long to try this place out. It was the middle of the day on a Saturday so there wasn't much of a crowd. First of all, great location! In the middle of the most beautiful part of Tennessee. Walked right in and were seated immediately. Friendly, attentive server explained the items we were interested in on the menu. The food came out in a short time and everything tasted delicious. I had the "Taste of New Orleans" which it a little of everything and my wife had the Catfish she she enjoyed very much. We are from Louisiana originally, so we know good cajun food and this was very good. We will be back here for sure and, more than likely with friends and frequently!
Family of 4 went in for Sunday brunch today; every dish was excellent! It’s a hole in the wall and a hidden gem! If we vacation anywhere near here again you can bet we’ll be back!

Great food.. service was great for my husband, but not me. Our waitress came back when the food came out then we didn’t see her again for quite awhile. Our drinks were near empty so the other waitress came over and asked what we were drinking for refills. My husband told her his and I said I was drinking water but it looks like tea because I used a drop in .. she brings my husband back a drink. I thought maybe she just needed to go elsewhere to get my water. 20 minutes later, no refill. By that time, our original waitress had passed our table multiple times (my empty drink was on the edge of the table) she never once stopped. My husband finally tried to get boxes and a check (and I explained that I didn’t get a refill when I asked for one and was told that was my fault because I said I had something (my glass was clearly empty).. our waitress comes up and I said to her .. you never came back to check on us (she didn’t respond) my husband said we just need the check and boxes.. the one that brought him a drink refill comes back with ONE BOX! At this point, I’m irritated and so is he so I asked if I am invisible. She said you only asked for one box.. the word ONE never left anyone’s mouth. We both had not even touched our food, our plates were full. Mine because I never got a refill and his because he refused to eat his meal if I didn’t have a drink to eat mine.. They sent a man out with my box.. and the original waitress comes to our table with her credit card thing and asked how we are paying and if we are ready to pay. It was $53 and some change and we never were offered a check to see what we were actually paying for beforehand, only after we paid. His WHOLE po-boy was half a sandwich. Other than the above, once we actually got to eat our food it was great. The okra is amazing, you have to try it.I figured maybe the staff was overwhelmed, so I tipped over 20% and we left ..
