We stopped off for some pork sandwiches and asked for pulled pork sandwiches. The young lady asked if we wanted "just" the sandwich, or the meal. One would imagine asking for the after defining "sandwich" as part of the meal, we would get sandwich meals with the sides rather than the sandwich alone. We ended up with just pulled pork meals. Not what we asked for, but since going back 30 minutes for 6 slices of bread seemed excessively out of the way. Now about the pork, it was not juicy moist, but wet moist. It was rather dry in texture and very salty. The hush puppies were well done on the outside, but too wet in the middle. Having had Haymakers on 4 occasions now, and having 3 out of four experiences turn out less than stellar, we will pass, Bubby's is another 5 minutes give or take up the road, it is always worth the stop.

I was working in Kingsport, Tennessee, and traveling back home to Michigan. Made a pitstop to this BBQ joint. Ribs were meaty and amazing, as were the sides. EXCELLENT potato salad, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. I definitely didn't leave hungry... if I ever make my way through this area, I will definitely stop back in. In the one picture, I pulled the meat apart to show how much meat was on the slab.

Just went in last week to try some pulled pork again and it was BETTER than ever! It was lean and juicy with wonderful flavor! The interior has been updated with digital menus and a spot to watch the game. The sauce is the same, sweet, spicy, delectable sauce it's always been. I was very pleased. I bought a pound just for me lol to eat on through the week. Reheating tip for optimal juiciness: place your portion in a microwave safe bowl, add a tbsp of butter, a drizzle of your fave bbq sauce (definitely their sweet bbq), cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 1 minute. Uncover, stir, place on your face toasted bun, and ENJOY! The total included a bottle of their sauce so it was about $30 which ultimately cost me $6 for a bangin sandwich and side of chips per meal. Without sauce it would cost about $19 for the pound of pulled pork. :)Parking: Parking is located behind Hardees.

Every since the new owners has taken this place over it has dramatically went down hill, there’s never any sliced brisket, pulled pork is always dried out, the fries always comes out burned, the previous owners deserves a 10 stars, this place now doesn’t deserve even a 1 star..very disappointed in Haymakers, once was a good place, this place will be a memory to me now

We use to come here a good bit when camping in Cumberland Gap but it's been about a year since our last visit. Last time we were there they had an evaluator going through the place to try and figure out how to improve the food and service. Well, they must have taken the evaluator's advice. Coleslaw was overly creamy and sweet, baked beans tasted weird and had ground beef including some large almost spoon size chunks, catfish wasn't nearly as thick as previously, and the hush puppies had not texture either outside or inside. This is a shame because the coleslaw use to be a good balance, the hush puppies had the perfect outside texture with a great sweet cornmeal taste inside, the beans were somewhat plain but with a wonderful taste, and the catfish were thick enough so the meat was thicker than the crust. All of this was enough that my wife before even finishing the meal said she was disappointed and won't be coming back. That says something since we use to eat here two or three times during each of our several yearly trips to Cumberland Gap. Oh and on top of the all the negative food changes, the prices went up and the lunch specials disappeared. This we could handle because everything is going up, but only if the food still tasted good which it wasn't..
