First and foremost: he shorted me a couple ounces on the pork, and while it may be a small amount, that’s still not appreciated. I got the pulled pork cause that’s usually the safest intro to a BBQ spot, but it was surprisingly dry and chewy in an unpleasant way. The guy claimed he smokes the pork for 20 hours, which I find hard to believe considering the texture and blandness… maybe the heat is just too high or they aren’t wrapping it right for smoking? I dunno man, but for a smoke spot, it was one of the most disappointing pulled porks I’ve had.
The BBQ sauce tasted like cheap, bottled BBQ sauce with a bunch of coarse pepper in it—flavor was, again, just kind of meh. Unfortunately the meat was subpar enough that BBQ sauce is required… so that was another mark against it.
I look forward to little smoking joints like this, and feel terrible giving them such a bad rating! But honestly, I expect so much more from my BBQ—ESPECIALLY down south. I gotta be honest… I just don’t understand how this place is rated so high. The guy was a bit of a curmudgeon who seemed irritated when I asked about his smoking process, so I don’t imagine the reviews are for ambiance or service.
Pricing was more affordable than many smoke joints, but that reflects quality I suppose.

The bread and the brisket melted in my mouth. The sauce was just the right amount of spicy, and it was a stop and go situation (which was convenient). I will say, however, that the jumbo isn't very jumbo (so you might need to double up). Next time I'm in TN, I'll stop by again.

You know, you can tell alot about someone by the plate of food they cook/serve you...this is a prime example. First time stopping in...the owner is just extremely kind hearted...and the food reflects just that. That entire plate was just one big huge warm hug, and I felt right at home. Do not skip on the beans. Incredible place. Amazing food. God bless you my friend.

The food was fantastic, some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Parking was a bit confusing and it took a couple of minutes for him to come out to the trailer and take my order. Hard to hear him because of the nearby road noise. Prices do need to be updated, but it was only a dollar off the menu, paid cash.
Doesn’t have updated prices on his menu. Was charged $14 for something listed at $11. Didn’t bother to give me the total before taking my card and swiping it, luckily I noticed the number on the iPad he was trying to hide. The price isn’t even that unreasonable but I can’t stand a dishonest business. His menu is a laminated piece of paper on the side of the shack so there’s no excuse for not having it updated. Confronted him and was told “brisket’s gone up $2 per pound I just haven’t changed the sign.”
