Usually hole in the wall places like this have awesome food. The menu items may have been a different story but the buffet was very sparse ( maybe 12 choices) and several of the items had been out way too long.. looked old and crusted over. The items that did look to be somewhat fresh was very bland and flavorless. We both got a very small plate. Did not enjoy the food very much and especially at $38 for a couple to eat. This was at 5:30 pm and you'd think they would have fresh food considering the buffet is advertised until 8 pm..on the other hand the owners were very nice and polite. The store connected was clean and organized.

Local, family-owned and fresh. A true South Jackson gem.

Authentic hispanic food in Jackson TN. Fresh. Good flavor. Good service! Prices are good especially for the quality of food! They also have a buffet just in case if anyone wants to participate in big back activities. They also have a cute little grocery store in there too! Glass bottle Coke, sprite, orange Fanta, & a few others are available to have while you eat or get in the store!

I got food here delivered by Doordarshan. I had the Steak street tacos and chicken cheese and rice. The food was very good. Wish the steak in the tacos was more tender that's the only improvement I woukd ask for.

If I had to imagine what home cooked Mexican food was like... Then the food at "Baja Sur" would serve as a great example. I just happened to stumble onto this hidden gem of a restaurant
and I consider this restaurant as my go to Mexican Food Buffet. That's right I said, "Mexican Food Buffet" and more. The food on the buffet is yummy and cooked right. You have "make your own Tacos", with all the fixings, mole pork (tender), Menudo and various vegetable selections as well as fresh fruit and much more. There is a full menu to order from for dine in or carry out. There is a "bodega" type store on the south side of the restaurant, with items galore. All in all, this Restaurant and store is a great place for lunch or dinner. I will end with this, the owner is very personable and the staff is very friendly. And this place is worth a visit...

Let me start off by saying these people are so nice. Made sure we were taken care of and was very attentive. The store and restaurant are very clean. The only problem is the food. Now they have a couple items that we good like the soups but I was very disappointed in the taco meat, basically all the meats they had on thr buffet it was just bland and wasn't what i expected. Tacobell would have been a better choice to be honest. Also, 2 people was 40 dollars for lunch buffet just disappointing to spend 40 dollars for a meal that was not good at all. Me and my kid walked out with frowns on our face. But they are really nice people they just need to tweak their recipes a little bit.
