Happened in here at about 11 am on a random weekday. The dining room was like stepping back in time. The classic decor was packed with a largely older crowd who were happily chattering amongst themselves and not buried in their phones, which made for a wonderful atmosphere.
A smiling waitress greeted us and I ordered a sweet tea, which was very good and served to me at a table that was charmingly worn from many cleanings over many years.
I looked at the menu and was delighted to see all-day breakfast. I ordered biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, eggs over medium, and hashbrowns. In a word, WOW. Just incredible. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. After gobbling down my meal in an embarrassing fashion, we paid a tiny, inexpensive little check, and skedaddled.
I have been raving about this place to everyone I know. If you like good old fashioned Southern home cooking, you’ll love the Bonwood Cafe!
