I know they're known for great steaks but I got the grilled chicken salad with the house dressing. It was delicious. The chicken was seasoned well, vegis were fresh, and the house dressing was flavorful.
Marlee (sp) our server was so sweet.
Overall it's a cool place to visit. I'll definitely visit again if ever in Jackson.

Excellent atmosphere and outstanding service. Every detail was handled perfectly—from the timely delivery of each course and attentive drink refills to the courteous gesture of holding the door. The food was exceptional and cooked exactly to order.

Perfect date night place! My sirloin was the best I’ve maybe ever had. My wife’s burger looked amazing too. Kind, attentive waitress.

I’m very disappointed with our experience at Doe’s Eat Place tonight. There were four of us, and from the moment we walked in, it was uncomfortably hot inside. They had a fan blowing on an empty booth, but still chose to seat us in one without it. We asked to move, and thankfully they let us, and the fan made a big difference—at least for a short time.
About 10 minutes later, another waitress took the fan into the “private” room. When we asked our waitress about it, she said she would get it back for us. But when our food arrived and I asked again, another waitress came to our table and told us the people in the private room had paid for it, so they got the fan. Absolutely unfair. The apology we received didn’t feel sincere at all.
We’ve eaten here before and always enjoyed the food and service, but this visit was completely different. The service was poor, and the food just wasn’t up to the quality we’ve come to expect. It’s clear that since Lou, the former manager, left, things have gone downhill.
We won’t be spending our hard-earned money here again. Honestly, I’ve had better service at Waffle House.

Service was prompt and very polite. Steak was very tender but I don't believe you could intentionally prepare a steak with any less flavor.

Food is mediocre at best. Ambiance is horrible very tacky especially considering the prices! I won't ever go back unless the up their game of the quality of food whoever runs this place doesn't know what they are doing

We were traveling and passing through Jackson TN. We read the reviews and could quickly see how many of the “great” experiences had been served by Natalie. When our server came to the table and introduced herself as Natalie we felt we had hit the jackpot! Natalie shared the very interesting history of Doe’s and made very helpful suggestions for an unforgettable lunch. We had the broiled oysters as our appetizer and they were exceptional! My cousin had the ribeye and I had the black and blue salad. Both were excellent cuts of meat prepared perfectly. Being located in the historic Greyhound Bus Station just added to the experience. Thanks Natalie for making our lunch at Doe’s Eat Place one we will not soon forget!
The steak was juicy and veggies well seasoned..Great service

Marlie took great care of us and the food was fabulous! We will definitely be back!
Ribeye steak was one of the best that I’ve ever had. Macaroni was very bland and didn’t really have a good taste. The baked potatoes was good. The air was out when I went so it was very hot. Other than that the service & staff were great.

Doe’s Eat Place in Jackson, TN is an absolute must-visit! From the historic charm of the old bus station setting to the live music in the garage and beautifully painted murals, the atmosphere is one-of-a-kind and full of character.
Our server, Natalie, was truly exceptional! She was upbeat, attentive, always smiling, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best experience possible—from the service to the food. Her energy and kindness made the entire evening even more memorable. If every server was like Natalie, every restaurant visit would be five-star!
The food was phenomenal. The charbroiled oysters were packed with flavor, the tamales with chili were rich and comforting, and the sirloin steaks were unbelievably tender—some of the best we’ve ever had!
Doe’s is doing everything right, and if they keep training their team to follow Natalie’s lead, it’s going to be the best restaurant in Tennessee. If you haven’t been yet, make the trip—you won’t regret it!

fresh food friendly service, have a wonderful day.
Food was just okay,a bit overpriced if I'm being honest. Service was quick, staff were kind. We didn't get some of the things that were supposed to come with our meal. Our kids's food was really bland and I don't blame them for not eating it. (It was overpriced as well) The place wasn't very clean,my shoes were sticking to the floor from stepping in something sticky and the bathrooms needed a cleaning. Only have 2 stars because the staff were really kind/friendly.
