Two days after Christmas, wanted something different. Fish, mashed potatoes w/gravy, pinto beans roll & tea. Food delicious! Price decently. Staff attentive & friendly. I’ll be back again & recommend you try their food too. You won’t regret.

Vegetarian options: She had nice assortment of vegetables.

Kid-friendliness: My kids loved it! They do have choices geared towards children & finicky eaters.

Parking: Parking is on the property.

We do try to support Black businesses. We will definitely eat here again when we are in Jackson, TN!

Ruby’s is the real deal! Meat & 2 sides daily special, as well as sandwiches, salads, burgers, chicken fingers and wings. Local joint run by locals - can’t get better than that!Very nice folks and good home cooking.

Probably the best soul food that Diners Dives and Drive Ins missed in Tennessee. This food is fresh and delicious, not salted, not greasy. I will be back again and again.

Probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. It was like eating high school cafeteria food. The chicken wings With gravy Was unedible. The corn bread was very dry. The catfish was overcooked.. I was so hungry I had to go eat at another restaurant. The food was very bland. Only the cheapest ingredients are used. But I guess if you grew up very poor and never had really good food or been to a very nice restaurant this is perfect for you

Food was good, portions were very generous. (You don't get 2huge pork chops anywhere else); service was excellent! Everyone's prices are up!

First time to visit this restaurant. Pork chops fell off the bone, the Mac and cheese was on point as were the Pinto beans. Service was excellent.

Jackson TN is lucky to have this restaurant. The smothered pork chops, dressing and macaroni was amazing. Took me home to those Sunday lunches after church. If you are driving by you better stop for some peach cobbler because you won’t find this flavor till you get hit Atlanta.

The food was flavorful and the J*** chicken was the best I've had. Oh can't forget the savory dressing and SOULFUL SWEET POTATOES.The food is BANGING idc what the price is, they are WORTH IT.

For the price, the food could've been better. I order off the hot bar and it was not good at all. No seasoning at all.

Tender, mouth watering porkchops, buttery seasoned cabbage, sweet yams and creamy mac n cheese. The j*** chicken was savory and flavorful. Comfort food on a whole higher level of good! The portions are generous and the service was friendly. Fairly long wait for a Saturday lunch, but definitely worth it. A shout out to Miss Betty who made our wait in line enjoyable!

I was eager to try Ruby's Soul Food out. They open at 11:00 and we were the first customers of the day. We were going to dine in but the food was put in Styrofoam so I decided we would take it home. I don't eat out of Styrofoam containers of I can avoid it.I had pork chops, yams and green beans, he had chopped steak, beans and yams and we both had peach cobbler (in a styro coffee cup). Neither of us got a beverage. $$$$ $42.78! $$$$ I nearly had a great attack! We're talking lunch prices. All I can say is that it must be a Chicago thing because lunch for two at $43 isn't going to fly in Jackson. Also the location and ambiance doesn't compensate for those prices. The food was good but not that good. We will not be back, too expensive.

Porkchop was tasty, sides weren't anything special, Jiffy corn muffin was burnt. Portions were small. They're kidding themselves if they think those Chicago prices are gonna fly down South. Can get twice the amount of food that's just as good for half the price at a dozen other places in town.
