Portales Mexican Tapas & Tequila

Oh wow! I just ordered a quesabirria for lunch and it was AMAZING! The meat is flavorful and rich. It's more than enough for one person. I was only able to eat 2/3 of it. The consume is EXTREMELY better than Taconganas. I ordered my meal, walked around and ran some errands, and when I came back, it was ready.

So lucky they are in the Lake District close to my house. Please order this when you go. You won't be disappointed!

Our first visit was ok. The people were friendly. The decor is cute. They are definitely overpriced. I ordered the expensive margarita with the tiny bottle of patron. The young man made it, tried handing it to me in a hurry, and informed me he didn't have the tiny bottle holder. The drink started to overflow. My tiny bottle of patron went all over the bar. ? He then asked if it tasted ok. I commented "it tasted rather weak, but that could be because the liquor spilled on the bar, not in my drink" ? He then asked if I wanted to try a shot of the house tequila.... I thought as a gift for spilling mine all over the bar.... Nope! It was on the bill.... Besides the chips and salsa, the food was not that great. The Hawaiian burrito barely had pineapple in it. The burritos are huge, but bland. I think we'll stick to our other favorite Mexican restaurants. Not impressed.

Went for lunch with my wife. Cute place, beautiful decor and really loved the chair sand tables, minor thing just cool.

Service was good, but it was a slow Thursday afternoon after the lunch rush but still nice to see.

The food though was surprisingly good. In that I got a steak burrito but it was really good steak, great flavor, something you don’t always get at so many Mexican places in town.

Wife got chicken and rice and again the chicken was better than what we expected, had good seasoning.

Finally, had some great margaritas.

Overly highly recommend and it’s my go to now for Mexican food.

Wow!!!! You NEED to come here. Amazing carnitas and ask for TAYLOR cause she is SWIFT!!! This place even has a MEXICAN CANDY MACHINE!!!!
