In a sea of Mexican restaurants in the greater Memphis area, Portales stands out for a number of reasons. Everything tastes more fresh than competitors, with generous portions that are well seasoned (not just loads of salt and pepper but actually seasoned) and cooked perfectly with the fajitas being some of the best I've had in the surrounding area. The margaritas are unique, not just regurgitated from pre-made mixes, and are really something special. The staff is friendly...
Love this place. The food is absolutely some of the best Mexican food at a restaurant I have ever had. From the fresh guacamole to the birria tacos, or the salsas to the margaritas. Delicious!
Food was excellent...the birria tacos melted in my mouth like they said they would!!! Our server Taylor was awesome too! Great experience all around. Our 1st time eating at Portales but it definitely won't be our last! ♥️
