Pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! Our second trip since the new, new owners have taken over and re-did the restaurant completely. Still a great atmosphere. I have the French dip which was delicious and HUGE, and my wife had the Wedge salad, YES they have a wedge! love the wedge salad but can't find it in Gallatin anywhere. Their portions are large. They also have a great number of pasta dishes to choose from which looked great! Will definitely return!

I visited Cumberland canteen for dinner tonight. The worst dining experience ever! We waited 10 minutes after being seated before we were ever acknowledged. We ordered the Cod dinner and Lasagna. The Cod was horrible! It was over cooked and greasy. The vegetables ; I couldn't readily identify were also swimming in grease. I took two bites and knew I would throw up if I continued. I told my waitress I could not eat it and she said ; "I'm sorry". She never offered to get the manager or did she take it off my bill. I tipped her good because she did not cook the food. We basically paid $73 for 1 beer, 1 glass of wine and a house salad which is all that was palatable. Please do not waste your money! Go to Awedaddys or any of the surrounding Marinas. The food and service is so much better.

Sorry folks but this was just not good food. Had the Philly chicken. I wanted it to be good. They stop serving breakfast now at 11:00 on Sunday and no they haven’t updated that info as of yet. Big sign still hangs out front saying breakfast until 2:00.

We paid a visit there this past weekend with my son who was in from out of town. Our hope when we sat down was to enjoy the NCAA basketball, have a few drinks and eat dinner. Our service was horrific. The lady was beyond rude as if she was bothered to find us menus and change the channel so we could watch the game. We stayed for a drink and left to find a better outcome down the street. This is our 2nd bad experience under the new ownership and I am not certain we will make it back.

First time....gimme a sec....the vibe is I guess suppose to be a water front dining. The menu says otherwise. You open it, and it displays a 40s classy font , of overcrowding food. Too much is no good. Confusing...right? I ordered Bikini burger, server let's me know that they don't have that anymore...or this...or this. Coulda let me know that before I looked at the menu. Husband ordered French dip au jus. Came saturated in juice, horseradish and onion rings. Collasel sandwich that was money wasted when you think about it. The amount of meat, plus sauce, plus cheese, plus fries, plus 1/4 lb container of ketchup is money down the drain. Did not appease him. Server was kind, but inattentive to say the least. People want to taste their food and savor it, not go into a coma. A mound of fries, again more money wasted. Bigger is not always better, if you're looking to have people come back, slim down your menu, give better quality of the food you serve, and portion size it accordingly. Eh...

We gave this place another try and it did not disappoint. We made reservations for 10:45am for brunch. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. The food arrived and the portions and quality were fantastic. The Dam Burrito is an amazing creation! We will be returning soon. Give this local restaurant a try. The owner and employees care about their customers.

Recently we had a chance to visit a relative new restaurant in our area. I am really glad we did. We arrived between breakfast and lunch. It was not crowded at all. We were immediately seated with a view of the lake. Our server was very nice and catered to our every wish. It took a while to look over the lunch menu. If I understood right, they have a breakfast, lunch and a dinner menu. There is some overlap in what is served during the course of the day. My wife decided on the Canteen Burger and I had the Prime French Dip. Both came with homemade fries. At this point I want to stress that the chief puts his flair on almost every menu item. The burger had the chiefs "special sauce" instead of mayo. My French Dip came already dipped with crispy onions and "special sauce" on top.The burger is huge as was the French Dip. We both got almost 3 meals from our generous portions. The burger tasted like a very good burger you might make at home. If you like home made fries, and we do, then you will like these. You get LOTS of fries. Now for the French Dip. When it comes to the table, its not exactly what you might expect. If you wanted a "traditional" French dip, you may not like this. However, give it a chance! It was delicious. Very juicy and tender. The onions and sauce was a very nice touch. We both would order these items again. However, next time I would try one of their Hand-Tossed 12" Specialty Pies. Will we go back, definitely.Parking: The parking lot could become very full during prime eating times.

I found this place by doing a doordash delivery order at night.. at first it looked shady on the outside because there was barely any light outside but I entered anyway and it was amazing on the inside very nice. The workers were extremely helpful and polite. I decided to come up with my cousin to check the food out and it was amazing as well the portions are a good size as well make sure you're ready to EAT! It's pricey but worth the quality!

Our dinners were good ( a bit pricey), however nothing we couldn't make at home. We opted for Italian dinners ( mushroom ravioli and chicken mastaccioli) which may have been our mistake since we were used to NE Italian food. Ravioli was tasty but lots of cheese and oil (salty & bit greasy) and mastaccioli was somewhat bland, along with basic salad and a small piece of cheese garlic bread. The restaurant is very clean but sounds reverberate throughout and makes conversations difficult. If you're looking for a restaurant next to a dock and want basic burgers or pizza then you found the place.
