BBQ and fishing...gotta love it!
I knew when I walked into Brazen Que I was going to like this place...inscribed on the wall was the phrase made famous by a great Pitmaster and friend...John Brotherton "Show up late...lose weight". At the cutting board I met Brock who made a great first impression for this business. Friendly, welcoming, and a solid cutter...he gave me a sample of the brisket and I was SOLD! I went with brisket, jalapeño sausage (note this is a mild version), turkey with Mac & Cheese and Mexican Street Corn as sides.
The brisket is tender, moist, great bark, and solid flavor...this would give the BBQ joints in TX a run for their money! Loved the turkey and found out they use honey on it too; the combination of a peppery bark and the honey was a great match. This would be a treat of a bird for the holiday table. The sausage may lack kick BUT not flavor, nice texture, good cheddar and jalapeño flavors. The sides are solid, and you can't go wrong with either one. The Banana Pudding is deeeeelicious!
I also got to meet Nick (owner and pitmaster) who had me try their bratwurst sausage...it is impressive. It can be difficult getting the sausage texture right and these were spot-on. Brock is their sausage chef and on the agenda for next month...think Southwestern egg roll flavors.
Enjoyed talking BBQ with Nick and Brock...they are both very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. While this may be a 90-minute hike for me, the food and staff make it well worth the drive. I'll be back in June to try some of Brock's newest sausage creation!
P.S. There is a good size pond behind the restaurant (Dillon Pond) and I always have fishing gear in my SUV...so you can have a great meal AND wet a line!!!

We drove here from Gallatin after seeing so much being posted about them online. The food was GREAT! We went after the banana pudding festival expecting it to be packed but walked right in and got our food. The best thing of all was the Mac and cheese. Had to be some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! Will definitely be back!

The Mac n Cheese is my favorite side item!! The baked beans, corn, and green beans are also fabulous.
The hoecake and brisket is an amazing combo, and I also love their ribs and pulled pork.

We tried Brazen Que for the first time tonight and OH MY GOODNESS! The best brisket we have ever had, the mac n cheese and street corn were phenomenal, the bbq sauces were SO good. We also tried the barbacoa tacos and they could be easily addictive. I am normally so picky but my husband and I both loved everything we tried! We will definitely be back (probably more times than we will admit). 100% recommend trying Brazen Que any chance you get!

Let’s just say it is 100% WORTH the HOUR AND A HALF one way drive to eat here… the food was BEYOND amazing and the slight tingling sensation of filling a hole in myself I didn’t realized needed filling was something I cannot describe and will will have to write about in my diary like one of those smut books your mom used to hide from your dad when you were younger!! I’m telling you FREAKING GO HERE!! Pretend you’re on the Oregon trail and hop in your covered wagon bring some medication so you don’t die of dysentery and MAKE THE TREK to this place!! Plus, how could you NOT support an awesome dude like Nick who BEAT CANCER AND STARTED HIS DREAM!!??

I don't review bbq places often because I rarely choose them over other types of cuisine. That said I heard this place was excellent from a trusted friend. This isn't the one flavor floating in sauce bbq joint you've seen too many times. Advanced smoking and curing techniques are understood and applied. It's cafeteria style so casual in the dining room but clearly the chefs aren't cutting any corners. Bravo.
