This place is absolutely amazing. The service as well as the food is second to no one. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food while visiting Tennessee.

The Food is always Delicious! Staff is very Friendly. I definitely Recommend if you can wait a long while to get your Food. Me and my Husband has came in 3 different times, but we noticed everyone that came in after us had gotten their food way before us, a older man and his wife had asked us what did we order? and We had ordered the very same thing they did, but they had gotten their food first. All 3 times we have stopped in to eat, it's been that way! We waited a little over an hour each time also. But Like I said, The staff and the food is really great! But it seems they need more cooks or something. My husband was furious having to wait so long, so He said he won't be back.

We had breakfast. Extensive menu. Mom and Pop type diner. Prices are fair and the food is very good. The biscuits are large and light and gravy was prefect. I like that the menu listed many al-a-cart items and they were at affordable prices. The place was very busy on Tuesday 9:00am. We recommend you try it.

A good diner. Breakfast all day like it should be. Nice staff. And about the only place you see pretty ladies around here. Does stay busy so wait your turn. Best hot fudge cake in Tennessee! Now I'm hungry! And it's too late to be open. 12am

Kid-friendliness: I'm sure it's kid friendly but luckily never see many there.

My husband and I moved to Madisonville a little over a year ago and are building a house and Currently living without a kitchen. I don't know what we would have done without the home cooked meals from the lamp post during this time. it doesn't matter whether it's for breakfast or dinner whatever time of the day we come the staff are all so friendly. we have learned the tricks.. if you want to eat fast order what's on the white menu. if you have some time and want the best burger ever try the surfer burgers, I promise it's worth the wait. This one we learned the hard way.. don't wait to be seated seat yourself! because believe me there is someone that comes in behind you that knows this Rule and will 100% swoop in on the empty table that is intended for you. we love the Lamppost❤️

Fiancée and I stopped in while in the area for a wedding. The place was PACKED (it was a Friday night) but we were able to sit at the diner which was fine by us. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and although we were warned it may take 45 minutes, we were served in half that time. We were fine with waiting anyway. The food was delicious, and the employees were friendly. If we are ever back in the area, we plan on stopping by for breakfast!

10-11-24 . 4:00pm. Service sucked. Took 45mins to get a burger. Kitchen staff deserved the 20% tip I left. UPDATE: Lamppost Restaurant owner please leave your number so I can contact you. The review could’ve been a lot worse but I’d rather not share the whole experience online. Thank You.

Could not get menu's or someone to take our order. Waitress was to busy sitting talking and apparently employees do not care. My husband ask if we could get menus and the waitress gave them to the table next to us.So we walked out. After they waited on everyone that came in after us. Don't waste your time!
