The service is great at the restaurant. However. I miss my rewards because I am unable to order in advance using their phone app. Their app is messed up, and won't take my order.

I recently ordered food from Captain D’s for the first time in ten years. I decided to go with the Family Pack, which included ten pieces of Fish Fry, along with French fries and coleslaw. The total price was around $28, which I found to be quite reasonable.
When I arrived at the store, it was noticeably empty. There wasn’t a single other customer inside. The employees weren’t particularly friendly or rude—they simply lacked any expression and barely spoke. The restaurant itself had an old-fashioned feel to it, but it was well-maintained and clean, which was a plus.
I placed my order online through their app, which I found easy to use. Downloading the app and placing the order was a smooth process. I had only opted for pickup, but when I got to the store, I noticed a strong cigarette smell near the restroom, which was quite unpleasant.
Once I got home and was ready to eat, I was shocked to find that the bottom of both food boxes had completely melted due to the heat from the fish. The plastic had created holes in the bottom, which immediately raised concerns about health risks. I couldn’t imagine feeding my children food that had been exposed to melted plastic and potential toxins. This was extremely frustrating and something I had never encountered before.
I called the restaurant to report the issue and was asked to return to the store to get a replacement. This was especially inconvenient since my kids had just finished their sports practice and were starving, but I had no choice but to go back. What annoyed me further was that they insisted I bring the melted boxes back with me. Did they not believe my complaint? I complied, and when I arrived, an employee took the damaged boxes to the kitchen. Another staff member then handed me a fresh batch of food, without so much as an apology. Their expressions remained blank, and their lack of customer service was disappointing.
As for the food itself, it was just average. The Fish Fry had an unusually large amount of brown seasoning powder on the batter, which made me wonder if the frying oil hadn’t been changed frequently. However, the fish itself seemed fresh and was edible. The coleslaw turned out to be the best part of the meal—it was incredibly fresh with no odd smell, and even my kids, who usually dislike vegetables, enjoyed it. The French fries were also decent—not too salty and cooked well.
After this experience, I couldn’t help but wonder why the restaurant was so empty despite its convenient location near the highway and its ample parking space. It seems that other customers might have also had their reasons for staying away. I was excited to revisit this place after a decade, but unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

The change in fish from pollock to swai (may be mispronounced) is a definite downgrade. Whoever was behind this decision should be fired immediately. Why would you change your signature fish (for years) to another fish of different taste and texture baffles me.

The food was ok. All the sodas were carbonated water or flat. The staff, however, they all just didn't want to be there. The girl taking the order sounded like she wanted to alive herself. When I told the window girl the Dr. Pepper was carbonated water, she looked me like I had 2 heads & the two other ones behind her just gave me dirty looks. I wasn't rude about it. Also, how can you do away with the sweet n sour sauce?! That was one of the best things about Captain Ds.

Often overlooked, this location has never had more than a couple of tables occupied when we've visited.

I had a coupon that was mailed to me for a two-piece fish dinner and I thought it was great value for the food and that was very good.
