The Cracker Barrel is an old country style restaurant. The menu was fairly extensive with something for everyone. The food was great and the waitress was someone working there for 22 years. The atmosphere was good, the only reason why I give it four stars was because the chairs didn't have cushions. They even had a good size gift shop.

Excellent food you in choices you can't find other places. Servers are excellent in friendliness and ability, but there are not enough of them. One has to wait a long time for to things not because they aren't working hard but because they can't care for so many tables at once. We waited a long time for food after ordering.

Cracker Barrel in Mt. Juliet sits just a few minutes off I-40 and it is an easy stop, especially on early morning drives to Nashville. Breakfast is available anytime and the biscuits never disappoint. If you come before lunch you can usually get in and out quickly. Once the rush hits the wait can drag a bit, but the service still moves fast considering how busy they stay. The cooks deserve real credit because they keep everything running and most people never see the work they put in.

My only frustration is the checkout process. I am constantly asked if I want to buy candy or some discontinued product that corporate must have thought people wanted, only to realize we really didn’t. It feels like the employees are being pushed to upsell instead of doing their normal job. It is annoying for customers and honestly it has to be even more frustrating for the employees who have to say it all day. The last line I heard was, “Would you like to buy some candy from the basket for 50 percent off today?” I was standing there thinking… what?! Did she really just ask me that? Cracker Barrel your better than that.

Pleasant new menu, with some old favorites. The cheese bites are delicious!

Our server was new and so didn't know everything she should (like what the soup is or that she should get drinks to the table quickly).

The beef and rice soup was so salty I couldn't finish it. It was also *very* thick - unappetizingly so. The cornbread was great and I was able to get some blackberry jam to go with it. The cinnamon apples were a nice dessert, meal finisher.

Reasonable prices. Too bad about the seasoning of the soup.

Our waitress, Kayleigh I think was her name was amazing! She was so patient, and kind while taking our orders. My 3 kids(7, 10, and 14)are all very shy, and don't like speaking to people they don't know. She handled it all with such grace. Checked on us multiple times throughout the meal. She was a breath of fresh air.
