First time I went to Houston’s, I had a great experience. Wonderful meat selection with a hot sandwich and mushrooms. Second time not so much. I took a detour off 40 to get some meat and a meal. When I got there, no meat. None of the bison, elk, duck, etc. which considering the holidays, I can swallow that and make allowances. I order the Reuben with fried mushroom to go as I’ve got a lot of road ahead of me. It finally comes out, and I hit the road with it. I decide to go with the mushrooms first and as I bite into it, I’m hit with a sensation of cold and partially thawed mushroom. Surely this a fluke, so I try another one, and again the same thing. In short, the fried mushrooms were not cooked and served cold/ partially thawed. The Reuben was good but considering everything else, I was left with a sub par taste in my mouth. I know we all have off days, but I’m not sure how to reconcile my second experience and if I would make another detour.

This place is fantastic!. I would give 10 stars if I could.. I had the daily special- beef brisket and cheddar sandwich.. only regret is not ordering 2 sandwiches. Lol. Excellent customer service also.

The best meat you can buy in Mount Juliet. Anytime we host guests we go straight to Houston’s for steaks. Chicken and pork cuts are always top notch. Great customer service as well for any special requests.

Great meat options and can take custom orders. I enjoy the restaurant in the market as well. I wish they were open later.

Legit one of the best places to get meat in the Wilson county area.Prices can be high at times but honestly, you can get great deals if you shop at the right times. It’s totally worth it because everything tastes amazing.One thing I would love to point out is their food they cook on the spot. They have the best cheeseburgers in nashville. They serve hot fresh meat and threes, chicken sandwiches, and much more.They even have something for the sweet tooth with plenty of pies, cakes and cookies.Legit the best place to go and get a cooked meal or stuff to grill out.

The butcher was very helpful and great prices! Will for sure buy from there again.

This place feel like home and the people feel like family. The food is amazing and reasonably priced.

Nice vibes, country feel in the city, ribeyes were amazing quality, prices not bad, sweet Italian sausage was also great. Lot of want to try items. Been around for a longtime

I attempted to eat lunch and buy some meat for dinner, but I was not treated in a friendly manner. I was in an isle looking at potatoes when a rude employee came up and demanded that I move out of the isle instead of choosing another isle to go through. She didn’t apologize at all. I’m sure she wasn’t aware that I’m a handicapped individual, but even able bodied people deserve to be talked to in a neutral or positive manner. How dare I attempt to shop at a store that sells things. I’ll be taking my money to a place that wants my business. The rude lady also blocked the sidewalk to my car and refused to move when I said “excuse me”. The shop also felt dirty, but I spent less than a minute inside due to the rude behavior. Please keep that rude lady in the back away from paying customers. I am typing this review as I sit in the parking lot if you need a time stamp. I will not be back.

Houston's has a great selection, friendly people, and great specials.

Steady flow of people for the butchers window. Nice little store front. We will be returning for more burgers and subs (& the fries are amazing)!!

Great service good meats, will be back

Houston's is hands down the best butcher shop in the area. The quality and quantity of their meat and produce beats every grocery store like Walmart, Aldi, ect... by a long shot. The staff are kind and helpful, their prices are extremely affordable, the store is very clean, not to mention the premade meals are phenomenal. I now only shop at chain grocery stores for household items I cannot find at Houston's, other than that I get all my meat, veggies, and cheese here. 5 stars!
