The staff is kind and helpful. Though it was only around 30 degrees outside, their HVAC blew cold air, causing us to put our coats on. There's very little choice for those who are gluten-free. The beef vegetables soup had very little meat in there and 50% was the fake little carrots. The flavor was good, just not filling. Unfortunately, the collard greens did not taste good & had a strange flavor to it. Hopefully, that was a fluke. At this point, we're uncertain as to whether we will return there or not.

I just had the most wonderful experience here! The staff were very friendly and the food was great! Even my 4 year old son approved of the chicken, green beans, and roll! Leah was even kind enough to cut up his chicken while I was paying. Love supporting local and will definitely be back.

lunch shouldn’t be $20 and for that fact I’m going to be honest. For the same price with a tip I can get my favorite meals from a really good place down the road and it is 5 star dining style food. You’re asking for occasional customers at that price, not regulars. I’m in no way saying the food wasn’t good. I just don’t believe lunch should be $20. I did enjoy the staff and I think they are doing a great job!
My thought is to offer a seasoning bar, or a couple gravy options for spice or to change the flavors between visits.. just an idea. FYI I did see the hot sauces but I didn’t wanna lose the flavor of the pork roast with a hot sauce.
If you like spice at all they have the best jalapeño corn bread!!!

Was there on September 16th and was looking forward to a good meal. All the food was lukewarm, it was if the steam tables weren’t on. I was so disappointed.

the food and nice people
I’ve been here twice now, and both times were great. It’s southern home style cooking/diner vibes where it genuinely seems like locals regularly come to. And I love that. They change up their menu so it’s not always the same meats/proteins. Which I like. Last time I got baked chicken and Mac and cheese and green beans with cornbread. This time I got pork loin with black eyed peas and coleslaw and a roll, and a side of blackberry pie! It’s great service with no fluff employees. (No fake kindness or people too busy talking or on their phones to care or notice you.) very decently priced for the meal you get!!
