We finally made it to La Cucina last night after hearing from several friends how good it was. It DID NOT disappoint. Cozy atmosphere, fresh and homemade ingredients, tasty food and the Panna Cotta was🤌. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back!

Best Italian food I have ever tasted! The Alfredo is rich, flavorful, and unforgettable. The atmosphere is warm and homey, making you feel right at ease, and the service is like being taken care of by family. A must if visiting the area—every bite and every moment here is perfection.

Did not get pictures of the food because we ate it so fast and it was fantastic. The chef is from Italy and he spends 4 months out of the year still in Italy- all the food tasted amazing and home made. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs for our toddler and those meatballs were so tasty- my husband and I got chicken Alfredo and shrimp Alfredo. Delicious! Portions were also European and not overwhelmingly huge like it’s typical in America. Pasta was homemade as well. The caprese salad appetizer was phenomenal too!
The atmosphere is so cozy and cute- you feel like you’re eating in Somebody’s house In Italy! Tons of outdoor seating too and we got to play in the yard after.
It’s reservation and cash only! The staff was incredibly friendly and the experience was great- definitely recommend and will be back! Fairly priced as well

Everything was perfect! The best food! My husband ordered lasagna that melted in your mouth and I got the Ravioloni Truffle Porcini Mushroom that was so delicious. You walk into the front door and the aroma just hits you, it smells so good in there. The house is turned into a restaurant and that just adds to the coziness. We will definitely be back

We visited La Cucina for our anniversary dinner. It’s an hour and 45 minutes drive both ways, but worth every minute of it! The house is nestled in a valley outside of Mountain City, and has seating inside and out. We were seated on the outside porch, and our server took great care of us all night. We started with the misto and Caprese appetizers and the tomatoes were unbelievable. My wife ordered the Shrimp Linguini and I had the Putanesca Shrimp. Both were hot, the pasta was Al dente, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the sauces were perfect. Served with their fresh ciabatta bread, everything was extraordinary. And I really enjoyed the Joey that came from the outdoor setting. Dessert was wonderful as well and not to be missed. We will be back!

Wonderful evening from start to finish! Efficient reservation process, impeccable service, delicious food - appetizers, entrees, and dessert! Just a perfect evening in beautiful Johnson County with great friends!

By far the best place to eat in a 1 hour radius. Being from Ashe county this place is worth the drive for all who appreciate creative fresh food. This was a great place to celebrate our 15 yr anniversary.
