Excellent food and friendly service. Order up by the register first before you sit and pay afterward. There are no signs telling you this. I asked other patrons. The building needs to be eradicated for mold which is a HUGE problem for me and anyone that has been exposed to it.. just an fyi..I recommend the food to go.

I've eaten Mexican food in 6 different states and this was the best I've ever had, it was even a hit with the kids. Everything was so flavorful and the meat tender and delicious. Definitely gonna have to stop by again when passing through!

They are super sweet i was welComEd was super nice and welcoming the lady reminded me of home and Mom she served me warm food and coffee she made us feel special i love the service so sweet overall the ambience was super calm the food was amazing had Diablo camarón was extremely nice thank you for bringing memories from home. As a military service member never been so welcomed here.

If you have ever traveled to Mexico, then you are fully aware that most Mexican restaurants in America cater to Americans. La familia was truly authentic Mexican food. Not a huge chain, it's located in a small, obscure building just down the road from food Lion. Wonderful people there, and really good food. We came right at closing and I asked them if I should get it to go, yet they insisted I sit down and enjoy my meal. I'm so glad we chose this over pablanos, which until now, was my favorite. (Sorry pablanos, now you're my second favorite??)

Literally the BEST authentic Mexican restaurant in East Tennessee and pretentious Boone, NC. A true hidden gem. The owner is a fabulous lady who brings years of her culinary expertise of home culturally inspired cooking to her customers. Her vegetables are local, many home grown and seasonally there is a stand at the roadside. Nothing GMO or "truck ripened". They even have the "original" Coca-Cola in glass returnable bottles without high fructose corn sweeteners. Just like the ones we had growing up in the 1960's. All her sauces and condiments are freshly made. In these times of financial stress I don't go out as often but I do visit LaFamilia as often as possible; (Weekly ). There is also a small grocery store associated with the restaurant that has all authentic products from Mexico. I no longer have to order my favorites from the creepy corporate internet importers. Remember, support your local businesses or they will disappear. Try it once and judge for yourself.

Oh my goodness!!! Lunch was amazing!!! Don't be fooled by the look of the outside. It is small and quaint, but the food and the service was fantastic! We were the only ones in the restaurant for a while and that is sad cuz the "other" place was so full, we left to try this place. I had the chicken fajitas, son had choripollo and both were so good.

Went for breakfast, and it didn't disappoint! Huevos chorizo, So good with tasty hot salsa, homemade corn tortillas and fried plantains, my favorite... I wish we had tried it for dinner the night before instead of the other Mexican restaurant! Tip: they take only cash

I have driven by this place for over 10 years and never had the desire to stop...On 2/21/2023 I was looking for a place to eat...all was closed in this tiny town..I seen they were open and tried it.....WOW. what excellent food they have...I have been missing out all this time..Highly recommend!! We had Gorditas, Burritos and assorted dips for chips...ALL WAS GREAT!!!!
