Is the golf course still open? Are tennis courts available?

We loved to come to Red Tail Mountain City TN. It use to be our favorite place until the new owner ruined everything. We don’t understand reviews 8,9 months old about delicious food because the clubhouse is closed at least two years. No more golf course, no more clubhouse. There is no reason to visit this place. The owner turned it for residents only. It looks like a very sad place. Nobody in town is happy about this change how we got to know during our last stay In town in December 2019.

The new look of Red Tail Mountain City TN is very sad. Nothing is going on there. The beautiful clubhouse is closed, no more restaurant, no more golf course. There is nothing to do on Red Tail property.

I haven't stayed, but I want to book a room next time I come to Mtn City!

I stayed for three days last August 2018 when I went to Bristol for the Nascar NRA 500. Our lodge was amazing. Two rooms, two bathrooms, big living room and American kitchen. The living room had a big window on the green. The main bedroom came with a balcony. All around you are surrounded by nature and it is very peaceful. Will give you a great feeling of wellness and recharging your batteries. You are so close to nature there are all sort of animals including deers and racoons. Lots of green areas everywhere, swimming pool and a lot of peace. We arrived at night and it was actually a great surprise to see the beauty of the place. Service was very friendly and they made sure everything was well planned. They even collected a parcel I sent there and left it in my room. Only complain is the air conditioning system, there was no way to switch it off but I guess it is just the American way... :):)

They were upscale with everything needed for our three day stay. Unfortunately, when I called this year to book a condo, the owners told me they were only doing long term leasing and the units were not available for a three day stay. Disappointing but totally understand from an owners point of view.

June 2018 - Sadly, RedTail has closed their best holes on the mountain side and is selling the land for homesites. The valley holes are still there, but are now private to members only. Owners have to do what they have to do - economics don't lie, but it is devastating to see such a great course that made such a nice comeback go out to pasture.

Beautiful & peaceful lodge. Gorgeous views, and the property it sits on is quite large. We found it on our way back through the Smokies, and loved it so much that we’d like to come back for a longer stay. Something about the king rooms reminded me of Snake River Lodge in Jackson Hole, same tone. Great place to relax in privacy. A golf course, tennis courts, restaurant, and a pool with a view, are on property (it appeared that not all the amenities were necessarily available during the off season, so it may be a good idea to check with the resort, before booking, if you're interested in specific one). We enjoyed walks in the evening, amongst deer, rabbits, and other wildlife. The team members we met at lodge were all so wonderful, and so helpful. Beautiful place to stay.

The physical setting in the mountains is lovely, but the rooms are not much and very overpriced. Dimly lit, lightbulbs missing, hardly worth $200+ a night. The only saving grace was the restaurant on property. Vista’s was excellent - a chef with 3 Michelin stars, extraordinary presentation of dishes, delicious food. The room wasn’t much but the food was extraordinary.

This place is awesome! Great food, great service. It serves the kind of gourmet food you'd expect in a big city high-end restaurant, but without the big city prices, and with better views. Peter's dishes are VERY creative; he blends things together in ways I've never seen before but the results are outstanding. We are moving to the area and my wife and I will be eating here a lot -- it's a great "date night" venue.

A good meal, nice venue, Sunday brunch is a pretty good value, worth a try.
