I ordered hot water cornbread & when I got it, the cornmeal was uncooked & oozing out the back of the bread. As I was inspecting the bread & trying to figure out what was coming out of my bread, that's when I realized it was uncooked. Also, I ordered the "oxtails" but instead, it tasted like pot roast smothered in gravy. Wasn't even the color of oxtails!! VERY disappointing!!! Also, I ordered the macaroni & cheese & turnip greens. Mac & cheese looked & tasted just like box Mac & cheese & was extremely salty & I only received literally about a tablespoon of greens (pics included). When I asked if that was all the greens I would be receiving, I was told, YES!

I really wanted to like this place, but the service was beyond unprofessional. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that organization was lacking. I had to go to the front to grab my own menus, and the service only got worse from there.
I was handed my drink at the bar instead of being served at my table. My food was automatically packed to-go without asking, as if they were rushing me out. When I asked for silverware, they responded, “Need some silverware?”—as if that wasn’t an obvious necessity. The entire experience felt disorganized and dismissive.
What really bothered me was the clear difference in service. I noticed that the other half of the restaurant, which had white customers, was getting attentive and proper service, while I was left to fend for myself. This type of selective hospitality is unacceptable.
The food was decent and cheap, but even that couldn’t make up for the frustrating experience. They also gave me the wrong check at first, adding to the overall mess.
I’d love to support Black-owned businesses, but good food should come with good service. Until they seriously improve their customer service and professionalism, I can’t recommend this place to anyone.
Would I return? Absolutely not.

I had collard greens liver and gravy and pinto beans The pinto beans were kind of dry but still kind of crunchy they could have been cooked a little longer The liver was overcooked and the greens were full of stems.

Probably the worst steak I’ve ever had. Paper thin and chewy. I’ve had better steaks at Waffle House. The server was nice and the restaurant was clean. It took 20 minutes to get my cocktail. The area is sketchy at night. I’d never go back. Very disappointing.

Never again! Boiled oxtails with no seasoning no gravy and no color whatsoever! Yams loaded with sugar with no cinnamon butter no nothing....the dressing is clearly made with Jiffy...a complete insult to the south! They cook with no love whatsoever! Don't waste your time or money here....I should have known better when I walked in and it was empty!
I was meeting up with someone and they said let’s me at 615 district I said ok. So when I got there I I was waiting on the person I was meeting I was like what is this place. So when they left I said I was gonna check it out. So i ordered food for me and my son, i ordered pork chops with gravy with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes and cornbread. For me i ordered same thing except i added turnip greens. The people that work there are super nice. So when i got home i got ready to eat for one the sides was like a child’s plate not much at all. Also I was missing gravy on the pork chops on both plates, missing my cornbread on both plates. Mind u I paid 38 dollars for this so I was highly disappointed. So I called back up there to explain what was going on I sent pictures and they said that’s how the portion are normally I said wow! Then she said I do apologize on behalf of my associate. We are supposed to check the orders before they go out and then we do typically ask the customer to check the order as well to make extra sure. Then I said don’t worry about it all good take care. Plus I live all the way across town. So I definitely won’t be going back there to eat!!
