Cinco De Mayo Mexican Restaurant - Murfreesboro, TN

T he food was absolutely amazing, as always! Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing this time around.

Our server lacked any sense of professionalism or hospitality. She didn’t greet us warmly, didn’t ask if we needed more time to look at the menu, and seemed impatient and unapproachable from the start. When our food arrived, it was literally thrown down in front of us without a word. We had to repeatedly ask for items we’d already requested, and when we followed up, we were met with confusion and attitude—as if we were the ones at fault.

To top it off, when I finally received the correct item, it seemed like it had been intentionally ruined—drenched in lime in a way that felt more facetious than accidental. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, I was honestly shocked by how poor the service was. This was, hands down, one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had.

It's really unfortunate, because the food was excellent. I hope management addresses this issue so the service can match the quality of the kitchen.

We were here for Cinco De Mayo and so fun! Great service and food! They even came out and sang to my son for his Birthday! It was a fast, fun, food 😋 fest and Birthday!♡

The food was very good, but the service was poor. I only received one drink in the whole hour I was there. My main issue is that they added up my ticket incorrectly and charged me for an extra meal we did not order. We were accused of trying to not pay for our meal. Will not be returning.

Best Mexican food in the city! We moved from Nashville 4 years ago and started looking for our new favorite local place just before COVID hit. It didn’t take long—Cinco de Mayo off Franklin Road is not far from our home, so we stumbled upon it easily. The food, service, drinks, and atmosphere are great. This place became an ABSOLUTE STAPLE of ours during the pandemic—offering fantastic, consistent, and convenient curbside service — and was the first place we had margaritas to go! It really made us feel less crazy in this world! When the city started opening up more, Cinco was right there—offering the same excellent service and food. It’s our son’s favorite place to celebrate birthdays and to go after school events—and we still count on curbside at least weekly to fill in the grocery run gaps! Love the staff & the food. Can’t say enough—the patio is great too (smoking is allowed, so we just check it out beforehand to make sure it’s not overwhelming -I’m sensitive to the smell- & usually it’s great & people are considerate.) Even when it’s busy—it’s worth the wait!

My family has been sick the following day after the last two meals we have eaten at the Murfreesboro location. Recent health scores of 82 and 84 (follow up inspection) seem to confirm our suspicious. Other locations have been wonderful, this location needs completely new staff and management. Won't be returning to this location unless improvements are made.

We love that they have lunch specials everyday. We usually go on the weekends because of that.
Our favorites are the Quesabirria, the steak quesadilla, and steak fajitas. The sweet tea is always great and we always leave happy.

I have been going to this place for 3 years now and have been overcharged a few times. Today I was really disappointed again, I ordered a nacho supreme and got charged for a nacho fajita. when I questioned it the server seemed disinterested and said it was because I ordered grilled chicken with it really? this experience really put a damper on our evening and I am not sure if I will be back.
