Jeff’s Family Restaurant is the real deal when it comes to homestyle Southern cooking. They’ve been serving Murfreesboro for over 20 years, and after one visit, it’s easy to see why locals love them.
We had the country fried steak, mac and cheese, green beans, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried cornbread — every bite tasted like it came straight from grandma’s kitchen. And for dessert? Peach cobbler and their famous banana pudding. Both were absolutely worth saving room for (or taking to go if you can’t).
Generous portions, fair prices, and food that makes you feel at home — you really can’t beat it. Go hungry, leave happy, and you’ll probably start planning your next visit before you even get to your car.

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently. Highly recommend & we will most definitely be back. You know it’s good when you don’t need salt or pepper.

My dad heard about this place so he took me to lunch here yesterday and I just had to leave a review. It was delicious. My dad couldn’t stop talking about how good the catfish was. I can’t stop thinking about that cornbread. I was super pleased with the fact that they give you plenty of food too so I have leftovers. We will definitely be back very soon. Thank y’all!

I love trying new places, especially smaller local places as this one. For $14 you can get this tray. Meat and 2 sides and a biscuit or cornbread. The cornbread was so buttery and amazing I didn’t even need to add butter. The fried chicken is perfectly fried and extremely juicy.

We had seen MeMe post a Tiktok about a hidden gem in Murfreesboro and had to go. IT WAS ALL SHE SAID IT WAS !!! It was the best restaurant I had even eaten at/from. We drove 40 mins from Lebanon to check it out and will definitely be back very soon. We said anytime that we have to go to Murfreesboro we are planning to stop in and eat FOR SURE. The staff was super friendly . The sweet gentleman serving the food even gave up a serving of their HOME MADE banana pudding . It was the best banana pudding. I got Meatloaf, green beans, fried okra , and mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole.I'm very picky might I add. Everything was the best version I have ever had. The sweet potato casserole was so good I had to get a large serving to go. Everyone should give the place a try. I thank meme for the recommendation. My daughter Lyrik got BBQ chicken and it was Half a chicken literally. and SOOOO JUICY ,& TENDER. As you can tell by her face she enjoyed everything . It was so much food we had to take it home .
