I found this gem of a restaurant via a Reddit thread discussing the best food in Murfreesboro.I brought my daddy here for a late lunch/early dinner today and we were beyond pleased with our decision to try Jeff’s out!I love the feel of the place— very tidy and clean, very homey. They have beautiful family photos in the space and cute decor that all communicate that this is a family establishment, which I love. There is power in the dollar and I believe fully that where you choose to spend your money says something about you. Why go to a chain restaurant when you can support a family-owned, local business like Jeff’s?We were greeted heartily by the kind people working in the front of house. You can’t find service like this anywhere anymore! I love feeling like I’m entering someone’s home, having a meal prepared by loving hands.We both got the chicken and dressing with gravy and it was fabulous. I had spinach and cabbage, both absolutely delicious. My dad said his sides— pintos and sweet potatoes— were wonderful also, and that the sweet tea was amazing!And y’all, let me not forget to talk about their BREAD. My dad got the flapjack and said it was just stellar, that he’s never had anything like it. I tried a homemade yeast roll and found it to be just perfect. When I tell you I will drive the 40 miles from my home just for this food, I am not lying!Thank you, Jeff’s! We had a great time with y’all today.Parking: Ample parking outside the building. Wonderful location.

2:00 must be too late in the day for hot food and my country fried steak wasn’t done still red inside turned my stomach not sure if I’ll even try itagain okra was greasy and coldish and hot water cornbread is like rubber on outside and the other items were not tried because I started to eat steak needless to say 44$ for nothing since we bought food too eat together and was returned money on one dinner so we neither one eat it. So disappointed with everyone saying it is so good it’s disgusting and not paying 44 bucks to get nothing to eat! Jeff’s can enjoy the money but serving raw meat won’t keep you in business. Wished I would have taken a picture.

Hidden gem for real home cooking/comfort/soul food! We had the country fried steak, cole slaw, black eyed peas, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, both corn breads and a yeast roll. ALL of it was delicious!

This was one the best meat and threes I have ate at in a long and I have not even tried all of their stuff. While I was in line I told them we were from Nashville and we were in town just to watch an MTSU basketball game and that next year we are going to make a point to eat there as much as possible when we come down for a game. Another family spoke up and said they were feom Nashville also, but had come to the Boro just to eat at Jeffs. The chicken and dumplins are about as good as I have ever had. The service is good and the prices are good. We look forward to sampling more of their food.
Excellent southern food, lots of choices, good serving sizes. Friendly staff. Clean and neat tables. If you’re looking for meat and three, there’s none better - don’t miss this place if you’re nearby.
