I was excited to try the new Lascassas Restaurant & cafe, but boy, do they need a chef!I'm a Falafel-Head and their falafel is the worst I've ever had! At $4.99 for the wrap, it would be a bargain if it had any flavor, but despite trying it with all three of their sauces - which were all watered-down and flavorless - it was just bad.My better half loves garlic and feta, so I surprised her with an order of their "Loaded Garlic Feta Fries" ($5.49/small). The fries were completely beige and floppy, an undercooked mess. The friendly but non-English-speaking guy waiting on me proceeded to ladle FIVE ~1 oz spoonfuls of COLD "garlic" sauce onto them. I use the quotation marked "garlic" because it was completely devoid of flavor - and did I mention that it was COLD?!? Then on went the "feta" - no taste to it, and wouldn't it be better if the cheese went on the hot fries to melt? (The fries were so hot when he put them into the styrofoam to-go box that it melted, and had to be very carefully extricated from the bag. All four of us who were at the table ate one fry and the rest went in the trash. The fried shrimp basket ($12.99) was awfully meh, with greasy mushy shrimp that were more breading than seafood. The Greek Salad with Chicken ($10.99) was unremarkable; they don't have any oregano seasoning (I asked, and had to explain at great length) for the "oil & vinegar dressing". It was poured from a bottle with a fancy Olive oil label on it, but it was plain vegetable oil (they do look and taste different) and that explains why the bottle looked older than the place has been open. They really want us to see that they're into Christianity, both had hats with cruciform crosses; one fourth of their huge menu board displayed the "Songs of Faith" that were playing rather loudly, and there was a nativity scene electric snow globe between us at the register. Strange (made me wonder if the place is a front for some nefarious activities). So if you're into bland "Greek" food, give them a try. Don't know why they have such good Google reviews!?!
