As a regular visitor to Smoothie King locations up and down the East Coast, I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this location while traveling back from Iowa. I stopped at this location and, unfortunately, encountered some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced at the brand. There was only one other customer in the store when I arrived, so the environment wasn’t rushed or hectic. However, the young woman with blonde hair working the register came across as completely disengaged and condescending. While I was selecting my items, she repeatedly asked, “Anything else? Anything else?”—not in a helpful way, but with a tone that felt impatient and dismissive. She also didn’t ask for my loyalty number, which is standard procedure, and only processed it after I brought it up myself. Her attitude made what should’ve been a pleasant experience feel uncomfortable and rushed. To be fair, the store itself was bright and clean, and the person who prepared the smoothie did a good job—the drink was excellent. But customer service matters just as much as product quality, and in that regard, this visit was an epic fail. I hope the management takes note and provides additional training, because this isn’t the kind of service loyal customers should expect.

I live right across the street so I come to this location pretty regularly. I absolutely love Smoothie King & all the products. With all that being said, unfortunately I have to give one star because of the HORRIBLE customer service from one particular employee, Maya, EVERY single time she works. I’m not sure if she’s just a mean person or if she hates her job but her attitude sucks. On two occasions I had a very minor issue with a smoothie I purchased and had to get them remade. Let me just say this, 2 smoothies out of the 3-4 I purchase EVERY WEEK is A SMALL INCONVENIENCE, BUSINESS WISE. What a coincidence that she was there both times and her attitude, facial expressions(when she thinks she’s out of sight from the window) comments, sarcasm. Very rude and unpleasant and it makes me hesitant to order at this location, afraid that she’ll be there. So I’ve started door dashing my smoothies to avoid her. All the other employees are very pleasant.

I purposefully left early for work to get myself a smoothie from here as I hadn’t eaten anything all day. I was really looking forward to a smoothie, my card is one of the few swipe only cards still in circulation, but it’s what my job gave me and it works. Their card reader kept on saying “bad card” apparently? At least that’s what the cashier said, he then said I should “just get a new card” but my card works…..I literally went down to the Speedway across and used it not even 3 minutes later and surprise surprise, it worked just fine. They need to get their readers or whatever working, because there’s no reason my card works just fine at a place across the street and not here. Guess I can’t ever have a smoothie here neither since my card isn’t good enough for their systems. (Just to be clear, my card is a normal Visa Debit card, not anything weird)
