Such a unique coffee shop! Friendly people, tasty coffee options, and locally made sweet treats. They also feature local artists and makers by offering their items for sale.

I stopped by for the first time today and tried the rosemary latte. It was delicious! I’m glad this cozy cafe offers such creative flavor experiences 💜☕️🌿

This place is absolutely amazing. The coffee is so good, and there’s such a variety to choose from. The employees are always so friendly and even remember small things I’ve mentioned and they ask me about them when I come in. These small actions mean a lot because it shows they truly listen and care. A few months ago, I went to Gather Coffee to buy a gift card for a friend ten minutes before closing, and they just stared at me through the locked door and refused to let me in because it was “too close to closing.” Now here I am, months later, buying gift cards for my business to give to customers. I called Calamity’s seven minutes before close, and they told me to take my time that they were more than happy to wait for me, and it was no big deal. That’s the difference between someone who doesn’t care about their job or the business, and someone who genuinely wants to see the business they work for thrive.

I am such a rabid fan of this place that everyone who ever visits me asks to be taken to the magical sounding coffee shop I’m always going on about. It isn’t just a coffee shop, after all. It’s an absolute cornerstone of the community, a well worn quilt and a blank canvas alike for old and new friendships to form and flourish, a place that indeed fuels the dreams and days and relationships of all who enter it. I met Jordan, the owner, when Calamity’s was just a coffee cart in an antique shop. I was immediately enchanted with her and blown away by the coffee she served. As the shop has evolved into what it is now, my love for it has only grown. Jordan cares about the staff as much as she cares about her customers and it pays dividends in the incredible bonds they form with the public. Everyone is always clamoring to talk to them because they’re fun and cool and make you feel welcome. I never leave without feeling- and I am not exaggerating- celebrated. It’s in the air there, and it is rare I leave without engaging with or seeing others engage with strangers as if they are familiar neighbors. I am excited to go there, every time, without fail. I started by falling in love with the Sydney, a lavender oat milk latte named for one of the earliest supporters of Calamity’s. The lavender is even better now, as it’s made in house. On a hot summer’s day I can’t resist a Queen Butters- a tasty, colorful blended energy drink that makes me feel straight up whimsical. Their Pumpkin Pie Latte has no competition that I have found for real pumpkin flavor and warmth. And the Dalton will never do you wrong if you’re needing something a little less sweet and a good deal more caffeinated. But truly? You can’t go wrong here. I have loved every bit of food sold in the shop, always sourced thoughtfully and almost exclusively locally made. I have also bought a blue million stickers and pairs of funky earrings and even clothing items and mugs and odds and ends. This shop is the essence of everything I love about Oak Ridge and you are robbing yourself if you don’t check it out when you’re in town!

Great experience at Calamity's. Non-dairy alternatives and they really pay attention to making your coffee just the way you want it. They use a visual to determine how light or dark you would like your coffee. The atmosphere was great. Tables, couches, hand made items you can buy, and games you can play while enjoying your beverage. Bonus, it is dog friendly! I have a nervous dog that I have been working with and the staff and patrons were so supportive of this. The owner even talked to us and my dog took a treat from her. Highly recommend.

Was in the area and needed energy so we swung by here and I was happy to see that they had a matcha latte as I can’t drink coffee due to a caffeine sensitivity. I had them add lavender and vanilla syrup to it because it comes plain and I’ll tell you what, as an avid matcha drinker, that was the best dang matcha latte I’ve ever had. It was made really well. No clumps, wasn’t too sweet (which I hate super sweet drinks) and I genuinely was sad once I slurped and there was nothing left at the bottom. I raved about it the rest of the day lol. I’ll definitely be back to this place if I’m in the area, too bad they aren’t near my house over in East Knoxville.

Both of us were able to get a drink that suited our tastes...a pour over for Hubby and tea for me. Gotta love those vintage tables! 🥰 We sat outside and watched people; there was a constant stream of people in and out so you know they're popular!

My wife and I got to town a little early today and had an hour or so to kill before we could get into our rental house. We ended up having a fantastic cup of coffee in this quaint and cute little place and my wife soundly beat me in a game of Scrabble the shop had on hand. Pride was wounded but the drinks were great. The staff wasn't just nice, they were kind, which is a rarity these days. Do stop in.

I've been coming to Calamitys for almost 2 years with a group from my work. The atmosphere is amazing and welcoming! I've never met a friendlier staff than the ones here. They listen and they care 💓 The coffee is amazing....The food is amazing.....the merchandise is amazing! You honestly won't find a better coffee shop than this one. The owner, Jordan, you see her alot making drinks with her staff and still manages to greet people as they walk in. I promise you won't be disappointed and i almost can guarantee you will walk out being a part of their forever family 💯
