Jim and Betty are great people. They are both retired STEM professionals doing what they love... feeding people and visiting with the locals.The food is amazing. They typically have only a few items on the menu... Wontons and Cashew Chicken (regular and spicy). They are Super friendly, I always look forward to seeing their smiling faces. They are local ICONS and an inspiration to all of us. Its primarily carryout, although there are a few seats at the counter.
It was my first time coming, and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for. Family-owned and family-run. Good portions and cheap price. Cash only, but I like it that way because I know it’s authentic. I tried tipping, but they said they would appreciate it more if I came back, so that is what I will be doing. It’s a blessing to have this much love and quality put into the food.
Miss Betty’s Magic Wok in Oak Ridge is a unique little spot with a simple menu that they do very well. There are basically two main entrée options—chicken with or without cashews—each available mild or spicy. The chicken is flavorful and cooked perfectly, though a bit on the salty side for my taste.
