Great play to vist, A hero , store is run by the grandsons . Also close to his grave went there as well. A must go day trip here in our own town. Thank you Sargent york for your service !!!
Catfish was good, meatloaf was chunky. Mac n cheese was kraft, mashed potatoes weren't hot. Cluttered old store and restaurant.
Good specials and sandwiches. A little light on the meat in my Philly Cheese steak but still tasted good.
I'm going to go back to try the food
Grilled tenderloin loin & fries were good.

Open 7 days except Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We enjoyed our Catfish and pork chops with green beans and hush puppies. Finished our meal off with very smooth creamy Kemps ice cream. Large menu or select something off the shelf. Sergeant York memorabilia on the walls along with his local tourist attractions nearby.

Me and my husband ate there today. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff are so friendly.
Slow and rude service. Won't be back.
Only recently found this shop. Today was my 2nd time here. My folks and I LOVE the ice cream and today we had lunch. The special was meatloaf. Probably the best we have had at a restaurant. The burgers were delicious and the shake was like when I was a kid! It’s an hour drive to get here and worth the trip. We plan to make coming here a regular thing.

Finally had lunch at York Country Store today. Everything tasted yummy and staff was super friendly! They have some cute products for sale as well as history related items. We will definitely be back.
We decided to try the food here after seeing the great reviews. They must have gotten all their friends & family to leave the 5-star reviews because they certainly couldn't have come from legitimate customers. The food here is SHOCKINGLY BAD!Friends burger was absolutely tasteless, BONE DRY, so THIN (The onion was almost 3X thicker than the burger!), & they forgot the cheese. He ordered tater tots & they gave him soggy fries instead. My breaded tenderloin was disgusting! Burnt to a crisp, DRY AS DUST, they forgot my mayo, & the meat was so thin it was almost nonexistent, nothing but terrible, badly seasoned breading. YUCK!There were NO cold drinks in the cooler of ANY kind. They were BARELY above room temp. And the service was deplorable! (The woman saw our order there & continued to chit-chat with someone while we waited almost 5 more minutes while everything got cold.)If you want REALLY good food just head north another mile or 2 & go to the historic Forbus Store! The burgers are 1000X better & they make a terrific Philly cheese steak. Their fries (& onion rings) are always fresh, hot & CRISPY, they make to-die-for malts & shakes, & the service THERE is stellar!

Nice, friendly place. Delightfully apathetic teenagers bring you your food. Great double cheeseburger -- cheese is American, but the patties are very good. Skip the freezer fries.Priced right.I'd go back to try their other sandwiches (a ribeye sandwich caught my eye).
