The setup: lunch on a Thursday. Chicken salad sandwich with onion rings. Slice of coconut cake to go.
The good:
Nice place, clean and sharp. Lots of seating. Food was out quick. Onion rings were outstanding.
The bad: Chicken Salad was almost tasteless. A little watery, the only flavor was an occasional bit of fruit in the mix. This stuff was highly reviewed, not what I expected. Talked to my server, was told it might be lightly seasoned for sensitive palettes.. honestly I didn't think it was right. Tomato on this sandwich was refrigerated.. shouldn't do that as it makes it grainy.
The Ugly: I spent my evening with a gnarly stomach ache. Of course I can't say 100% it was the chicken salad, but I've got a pretty solid idea. I don't get stomach bugs, and it was gone by morning.
Also the cake was WAY overhyped. $8 for a huge slice... well the slice was a decent size but it wasn't $8 huge.. and the cake itself was made well, but not at all remarkable. If I'd have made it, I would've been happy with it.. but I expected extraordinary after the reviews.
Famous Fruit Tea.. famous for what now? Watered down and weak. Not even worth a to-go.
Overall I had an underwhelming experience, but I think they can do better. Everyone has off days.. but I'm really concerned about the chicken salad. The staff was very nice and attentive, though I'm not sure how seriously she took my comments about having someone check on the chicken salad.

This northerner thought the chicken fried steak was top-notch.
Cute little spot with really good desserts, homemade candies, cake pops and truffles. They also have a few little boutiques inside the building that you can shop while waiting.

I was so in Awe the minute we pulled into the parking lot. It was magical and the best find. I'm so grateful my friend knew about this place and took me. I will be sharing this experience with the company and loved ones.

Food is good. Go here for many group outings. Shops located in the same building also a plus. Would suggest reservations for groups.
Cakes are expensive but they are large pieces and delicious.
Wheelchair accessibility: The dining area is on the ground level. No steps.
Shopping on ground floor has one tall step. The second floor shopping is accessible by elevator.

We are traveling from Alabama back to Chicago for Thanksgiving and stopped here as a pit stop. It's a WONDERFUL place full of southern hospitality and cooking. They have a very cute boutique attached that have several things you can find for everyone in your family. Check them out!!!

I had a nice lunch and divine dessert. They had the best largest slice of cake. You can't make a mistake with any desserts. They have the most beautiful set up downstairs filled with all kinds of amazing items for sale. It even has an upstairs that is designed so magnificently with so many desirable items.

Just average. Food was good, but not exceptional like others mentioned. A bit pricey considering that. Clean.

Absolutely best cakes in a hundred mile radius. I brought home the coconut, German chocolate and the chocolate dream. I have never had any better cake in my 68 years of life. The pieces are huge so I shared them with the family and we have all come to the conclusion that their cakes can not be beaten. So very good.
