I go here a few times a month for lunch and the food is always great (I always get the bbq nachos) and the service is great as well. If you haven’t eaten here you are missing out.
I normally love the BBQ pit, and I’m not sure if it was an off day. But we got a rack of ribs and a few bbq nachos for takeout, and the nachos were pretty good. Not as much meat/toppings as normal, but great taste. But the ribs were hands down the worst I’ve ever had, we literally fed them to our dogs because we couldn’t eat them. The membrane hadn’t been stripped in them, making them have the most awful texture. Super disappointing because I’ve wanted to try their ribs for years, but never been through that way on the weekends. Hopefully it was just an off day, but I just wanted to warn fellow customers so they don’t waste $ on a meal that’s equivalent to dog food at best.

The service was great. The employee was very kind and helpful. However, the food was disappointing. Maybe my expectations of BBQ are different since I’m from Texas, but when I walked in, the place had a strange smell. You typically expect a delicious smoky aroma in a BBQ restaurant, so that was off-putting.
I ordered the pork sandwich and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, the pork wasn’t smoked and lacked seasoning; it felt like it was cooked in a crockpot. The mac and cheese was watery and didn’t taste good either. I really wanted to enjoy the meal, but I left feeling hungry because I didn’t eat much. I would suggest not advertising as a BBQ place.

We were travelling through Portland and hadn't planned to stop here, but did. The service was great and the food was even better! We both had pork plates with sides. Everything was wonderful ! When we are in Portland again, we will be back!

I was hoping more from the Barbeque Pit. Service was with a smile and the seating area was clean. Ordered pork plate with w sides that comes with roll or cornbread. The cornbread was the star on my plate with the bbq baked beans followed by the pulled pork and finally the cold store bought mac and cheese. The pulled pork had no smoked flavoring which was disappointing but was okay. No fatty pieces anywhere in sight which is surprising. The cornbread helped me push my beans and pork onto my fork and made me smile. Tea is super sweet so a half and half is recommended. That's it.
