I love cookout usually! But whoever gave me these dry, shrivelled strips of chicken needs to be retrained đŸ„Č

Better than the standard burger shops. Jucy and freshly cooked, not steamtable meals. Order the trays, it's muchless expensive.

I didn't eat just went for a visit for a job. The 2 management I spoke with were really nice and one of the guys working in the back was fast to acknowledge me, very polite people at the store.

Probably the worst Cookout experience I’ve ever had and the most impolite cashier I’ve dealt with in a while. Waited like 10 minutes for shakes when they weren’t busy and there was no one in front of me and couldn’t even get a half assed “sorry for the wait” before she went back to her phone. Ridiculous visit.

If you order a regular cheeseburger or a regular hamburger at McDonald’s, you get more than you get on a cookout burger at this particular location and I will never go back! I am waiting on Whataburger to open across the road from them then you will get an A+ plus review from me on hamburgers

Hey, it’s fast food. That’s what you’re gonna get but it’s way better than McDonald’s Burger King or Wendy’s.

We stopped at Cook Out on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving while road-tripping because we’d never eaten there before—despite seeing them sprinkled all throughout the South. We arrived around 8 p.m. and were warmly greeted. This is very much a fast-food experience, but the staff member taking our order was lovely and patient when we explained it was our first visit.

The menu is huge—almost too large to take in at once—but we went with the popular “tray” combo. My husband chose a hamburger, slaw, and Cajun fries. I ordered the two hot dogs “Cook Out style,” which meant mustard, onions, chili, and coleslaw. In my opinion that’s the perfect combination for a hot dog. For my sides, I picked regular fries and a walking taco.

For premium drinks, my husband had a Coke float and I tried the mint chocolate chip shake. The dining room was clean and had plenty of seating, even though they were fairly busy for that time of night. I really liked the picnic-style tables and the hand-washing station—such a simple but thoughtful touch.

Our shakes came out quickly. The mint chocolate chip shake had good consistency, though the ice cream tasted more like ice milk than a richer, higher-fat ice cream. It was good—just not great. My husband enjoyed his Coke float.

The food itself was okay. Not bad, but not memorable—and honestly, I don’t think Cook Out is aiming to be gourmet. At $7.99 for a tray, the portions were generous and the value is undeniable. I wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw; it had more of a vinegar-based dressing rather than a creamy one. Overall, the meal felt a little disappointing, but completely in line with the price point.

We commented that you could feed a family of four on a tight budget for around $10–11 if you ordered strategically (for example, two hot dog trays with walking tacos as sides, a Coke float to share, waters, and maybe an extra fries).

In the end, the staff was excellent, the restaurant was very clean, and the experience matched what Cook Out sets out to be. It’s probably not a place we’d go out of our way to visit again, but we’re glad we tried it.

I want to give this location a much higher score than I did, I really do. It's basically the only place thats open post midnight, its delicious, and it's cheap. But when 3 out of the last 4 times you order here and you're shorted something you pay for, it's a problem. I don't know if management of this time slot has changed or what, but if I pay 9 bucks for a burger and double fry tray, and only get the fries, it's a bit infuriating.
