I saw this place had great reviews so took the family out after church and WOW!! The people, the place, the food was all amazing. Don't let the small parking lot fool you this place packs a big punch! Every single dish was homemade literally and was just like sitting down at my grandma's after church for lunch. Great hole in the wall place, nice genuine people, and will definitely be going back!!
p.s.- Almost got an extra helping of cobbler to go it was so good lol but decided it'll be a reason to just go back soon! Thanks Newts

We stopped in for takeout but stayed to talk with the owner. Seems most of the business is from folks heading to Rock Island. Great pulled pork and slaw. We'll be back when we're in the area.

We stopped by after hiking around the twin falls. The food was incredible. I haven't had pulled pork that delicious in a while! The prices are good as well. The lady working there was by herself and she was the sweetest. She was working very hard.

Awesome place, sides are fresh and everything is made that day.
We were half frozen while camping at Rock Island, and wanted an easy, warm breakfast. We were welcomed as we walked in, and showed a simple buffet style breakfast. The food was DELICIOUS. ? recommend.

This was our first time in and we are so glad we decided to give it a try!! We were greeted immediately and made to feel very welcome. The food was definitely a 10 out of 10..... delicious!! The owner/staff talked to us like they had known us forever. I just can't say enough about Newts. If you haven't tried it you are missing out!

We visited Newts after going to the waterfalls. This was our first time eating at Newts. The pulled chicken was moist and tender. The sides, hocake, and desserts were tasty. Will definitely go again.
We stopped by after Rock Island. We are visiting from PA and always looking for a good BBQ place while we are in TN. We definetly found one here, the food was great, the loaded potato was gigantic, and I even had to get a side of mashed potatoes to go because they were amazing!
i am so beyond thrilled we stoped here! this was the best BBQ EVER and the literal BEST BANANA PUDDING IVE EVER HAD IN NY LIFFFFEEEE!! We got a half rack and pulled pork with green beans, amazing gravy and dressing, and mac and cheese and i tell you, im stopping here every time im by rock island. the service was great too, prices super reasonable. we will be back!!

Both brisket and pork were very dry and to compensate for it soaked in BBQ sauce. No trace of smokiness.
Plus overpriced for the tiny portions.

We stopped here after visiting Fall Creek Falls State Park. We were waiting for the right moment for BBQ and decided to try this small joint. Not your typical restaurant but the food was delicious and the variety was excellent. The two ladies hello by were super friendly and showed all the food available. Great experience! Thanks you!
