Our coffee and breakfast was fantastic! If the coffee was served in a real cup, it'd be more fitting.

We'll definitely visit again and try lunch next time.

Like the owner mentioned in a response below, the building is old. Enjoy it for what it is. If it 95° outside, expect it to be a litte warm. Enjoy!!!

The tater tornado was awesome and the western burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had.

Came down from Nashville and I loved everything about this place. Super friendly people, atmosphere, and the food was just incredible. Absolutely loved it!

First time eating at this little, out of the way place that’s not far from Rockvale, Tennessee. I was honestly surprised at how much I loved it. Got breakfast (it was lunch but breakfast is the most superior meal of the day) and it was epic. The Breakfast Bowl with scrambled eggs, the well known fried taters, fried chicken, and gravy blew my mind. I even got a sausage and biscuit that reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking.
If you want something down home and want to take a little time to enjoy it, The Fried Tater is a destination you’ll love.
(I also heard their burgers and grilled chicken sandwich is top notch).

We visited today for lunch.
The little one devoured her grilled cheese and fries and the hubs did the same with his steak burger and onion rings! I had the BLT with fried green tomatoes which was delicious and fried okra equally as delicious and tasted very fresh!
Great little spot and they had some cute little tik tak toe games to play while waiting!

A very good 'home style' breakfast. Biscuits&Gravy was very meaty , potatoes were great, eggs were maybe a little overcooked hence the 4 stars instead of 5 , However the chicken was absolutely amazing. The chicken alone deserves a return trip, probably several.

A beautiful day for a drive so I picked The Fried Tater Café for a visit. Housed in the old Versailles/Rockvale Store (built in 1884) and had been empty for the past 40 years, they did a great job renovating. Sat down and Megan brought me a menu while sharing some of the “must haves” here. I ordered the Philly Sirloin steak sandwich (this is not a Philly cheesesteak for all you purists out there) and the Tater Tornado as an appetizer. The Tater Tornado gives you the best of both worlds…potato chips and french fries and they are really good. I sprinkled a little salt on em, dipped in ranch dressing, they are addicting!!! This steak sandwich is solid! The steak had some nice grill char, great flavor, and is very tender. The veggies caramelized while the smoked gouda cheese is a really nice touch. Even the “side” of cole slaw was very good, fresh, and crunchy. While I was eating Megan brought some fried pies to a table and they smelled incredible. So I ordered a blueberry one to go and suffered in my SUV the whole way home smelling it. These pies alone are worth the drive out here…absolutely delicious! Without a doubt the best homemade blueberry fried pie I’ve ever enjoyed. Really great food, nice serene country setting, and friendly service. Well worth the drive out to Rockvale!!!
