I’ve been eating Nashville hot chicken for 20 plus years. No one has ever made better hot chicken than the original Nashville hot chicken, Princes Hot Chicken on Ewing Lane in Nashville. There have been a lot hot chicken places in Nashville since it became Nashville’s “thing”. I’ve tried most of them. Some are good. Some fall way short. Today, I tried Hurts for the first time. I’m saying today that Hurts is the best Nashville hot chicken in Nashville. The shame is, I’ve passed Hurts a few times heading to the new Princes in Antioch. Sometimes, goodness is right in your back yard.

Tried this chicken from their truck at the Full Moon Pickin Party at Warner Park.
The chicken was moist and tender, which is always most important. But the heat level didn’t disappoint at all. Hot was solid habanero level heat. I’d put this up against any Nashville hot chicken I’ve had for sure!

Great hot chicken! One of my boys was rolling on the floor because it was spicy, but he kept coming back for more! We had the hot chicken sandwich, hot chicken cheese fries and regular tenders. All excellent! We are glad to support this local, family-owned business.

Waited for an hour to order at the Full Moon picking party. I made order waited 20 more minutes and they lost it so I requested a refund. It took 5 minutes for her to find the charge to refund me. Four people in the food truck. One person gave part of a s**t and three people standing around. The absolute worst service and execution I have ever experienced. These people are the absolute worst. I can't comment on the food but it doesn't take a genius to fry chicken or to serve it in a timely manner. Will never try again.

The hot chicken gyro is one of the better things I’ve ever eaten! This hot chicken has an amazing and unique long/slow burn that had the heat still building 10 minutes after I finished eating it all. I will be craving this burn and will be back many times. And that strawberry syrup with a lil kick? FIRE. I want to pour that stuff on everything.
