We came in very close to closing after volunteering most of our day to Selmer’s tornado cleanup, & the Hickory Pit fully accommodated us, the only people left in the restaurant for a good minute. Thank you for an excellent meal & excellent service!

The chicken & dressing on their lunch buffet is bland with and without gravy. The cornbread was dry and tasted like grease. The fryer needs cleaning as the chicken tenders had flecks of burnt stuff all over them. The desserts we got were soggy and not very good. This is the 3rd and last time eating there since 2019 because every time we do, we end up on the toilet all day after. We kept hoping we caught them on an off day but not 3 times over a span of 5 years. Sorry guys.

I ate here before place caught on fire, it is 1 of the best BBQ places in East TN., no other can compare to the well cooked tongue licking your face good, I would recommend it to any person that is a BBQ person

I bought a family pack of barbecue Thursday and when I got home the buns were molded and the meat was so disgusting my dogs wouldn’t eat it. Needless to say I’ll not be eating there anymore. I ask for the whitest meat they had this is the mess I received.

Really nice new place from the outside & the appearance. Orderd a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on it. Was supose to have bbq sause but, guess thier idea of sauce is 2 small squirts. Cause there was barely any at all sause whatbso ever. I got 2 cheese sticks & a drink to go also. Didn't relise until after I was rung up with card swiped. These people charged me $37 F'n dollars for my food. Seriously ??? Overall experience the food was mediocre at very best for an actual bbq restaurant. Wouldn't bother even stopping here unless your desperate for something other than fast food. I highly doubt I'll be back at this place just because of this. The only thing this place has goin is the locals keeping it open & the seemingly nice atmosphere. Savannah, Tn DO BETTER !!!!

We got take outs and was very fast, and I just went in to the attractive dining room and went to the buffet and Beth was quick to fix our to go plates. The chicken tenders, sweet potato casserole, squash casserole, slaw that I had was delicious. My husband had chicken and dressing, orange fluff and the two casseroles. Each was only $9. I highly recommend getting lunch at the Hickory Pit. Glad buffets are available. This was Wednesday menu.

Love this place. I was so happy they reopened. I have been going here my whole life. It little taste of small town cooking and service. The food is amazing and the sauce...just...soooo good. The people who run it are friendly and kind hearted as can be.
